A beautifully painted and gilded English jug, probably Minton, of large size. Done in shades of blue, greens, and reds, it depicts a large lotus tree on one side, and foliage and flowers throughout. The main items in the painting are outlined with gilding, which is also prominent of the handle and spout.

Condition is superb, looking factory fresh, with no cracks, chips, restoration, or paint or gilding loss. There is a pattern number on the bottom...

A charming and early Derby diminutive basket form sweetmeat, with delightful floral painting by the Cotton Stem Painter. This form, which is uncommon in blue and white, is almost unheard of in polychrome, with virtually no examples having been offered at auction in the last 10 years. An example is shown as illustration 44 in Gillespy's book on Derby Porcelain.

In overall very good condition, with a very old repair to one of the handles...

This porcelain bottle was produced in Berlin by FA Schumann between 1850 and 1869.  The bottle measures 6 inches high and 3 5/8 inches by 3 1/8 inches at the bottom. The porcelain is molded with scrolls and shells.  There are two finely hand painted landscapes.  They are both identified.  One is a church in Bulha. Buhla is a municipality in the district of Eichsfeld in Thuringia, Germany.  We did not identify the other scene...
