Teacups – six plus one - and saucers from Staffordshire with moulded borders, made of porcelain around 1825 and possibly by H & R Daniels. The pattern is numbered 766 and consists of little blue flowers or leaves growing from meandering sprouts in green, with minimal red shoots from them. Measures: height of cups "2/ 5.7 cm, diameter "4/ 10.5 cm and of saucers"6/ 15 cm. The seventh cup with a slightly different handle and no border moulding. Condition of all pieces: fine.

A little less than ½ inch (1 cm) wide. Tapered sides. Wire hanger attached.

Condition: damaged along the upper left edge, part of an old repair and part not repaired. Firing flaw on the right. Small losses on other edges.

A marvelous pair of Dresden or Old Paris porcelain candlesticks with carefully painted cherubs holding to each nozzle while upholding while perched on stumps. The winged characters are draped with modesty scarves which swirl around the sticks. The quatrefoil bases are embellished with gold and encrusted with pink flowers.

The slightly brassy gilding cause me to date these beautiful candlesticks as early as 1880 since they are unmarked, to as late as 1910...
