This porcelain covered bowl with underplate was produced in England by George Jones in the 1870s. The underplate has a diameter of 6 1/2 inches, the bowl is 4 1/2 inches high and 7 inches long across the handles. The set is marked with an impressed Jones mark. The porcelain is very fine, white bone china. The underplate is contoured so that the well is raised up to meet the bottom of the bowl. A soft paste porcelain dinner plate unmarked, but probably Minton. In the “feuille de choux” pattern with hand painted flowers, blue accents and heavy gilding.
