This porcelain vase was produced in Germany by the Donath Drescen Studio in the 1880s. The vase is 9 1/2 inches high and 6 inches across the handles. The handles on this vase are elegant.
The vase is expertly hand painted with scenes of lovers in garden landscapes. These scenes are framed by ornate gilded cartouches. There are floral panels around the neck of the vase and to the sides by the handles. The floral areas are overlaid by trellis-like gilding...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England between 1800 and 1815. It has no mark from the manufacturer but it may have been made by Minton or Coalport. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The shape of the cup is known as a bute shape. The porcelain has a slightly grayish tinge to it. It is not pure white like the bone china produced in later years in England...

It has been a long while since we have offered a Massier duck for sale, due in no small part to their rarity. This duck was expertly modeled in the studio of Jerome Massier around the turn of the 20th century using the vivid and, in this case slightly iridescent glazes for which he and his cousins were justly famed. The duck is standing on what we surmise is a sandy beach, adorned with rich green, brown, and off white colors, beak slightly open...

Set of nine(9) German "Waechtersbach" marked earthenware creamy color reticulated border plates with large floral design in the center, ca. 1900-1907, 7/8" high, 8 7/8" diameter. A large copper lustre jug / pitcher, both sides transfer printed with Charity as a mother with children, having pity on yet another child. Sunderland, England c 1830, unmarked. Height "5 ½ / 13.5 cm. Condition: a firing crack visible at the base and a glaze bubble to the Charity image to one side (cf. pics). A smaller Sunderland jug with Hope is presented in another GC offer (cf. last pic).

Unusual tile of a seated man in a flat cap holding a fishing pole while his wife in a bonnet cap seated beside him looks at him. A charming scene. The tile has tapered sides.5 ¼ inches (13.5 cm) square. ½ inches (1.5 cm thick).
Condition; major old restoration to the upper left corner, similar restoration along the right edge in the column and other very minor chips.
I think this is a fairly rare format with the columns and arch. The figures have a certain humor and art.

A rare, early English flow blue three piece soup tureen c1850-60. This tureen stands 11" high with the lid, and the matching, fitted underplate measures 14-3/4" x 13". It has a floral style motif, and it has an impressed S as well as a pseudo Chinese mark, minor variants of which were used by Charles Meigh (1835-49), Charles Meigh & Son (1851-61) and also Job Meigh (c1805-34), all of Hanley, Staffordshire; we feel it dates from c1850-60 but it could possibly be of earlier manufacture...

A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. The specific border used for this pattern adapts itself well to the lobed shape of the rim. Around 1800, unmarked, possibly Spode. Diameter "8¾/ 22 cm. Condition: fine.
