This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal crown Derby in 1898. It has date ciphers that indicate this year. The saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of delicate, translucent bone china. The decoration is extremely fine. This porcelain plate was produced in England by Coalport in the mid 19th century. It is unmarked, but from the shape of the blank and the type of decoration we can attribute it to Coalport. The plate measures 9 ½ inches in diameter. It has a cobalt blue border that is accented with French enamel. There are sprays of hand painted flowers in bright colors around the center of the plate. Actually, this type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge; elaborate raised tree and floral decoration; 10" diameter. Excellent condition.

A molded porcelain plate with an overlapping acanthus leaf lip picked out in gilding and blue-grey. In the upper part of the well an exotic bird rests on a branch with green leaves and red berries. On the back are the gold anchor mark, pontil marks and an inventory number applied much later. Like most Chelsea of the period it is quite heavy. 8 ¼ inches (21 cm) diameter.

A large heavy porcelain ice-water pitcher made in either America or France but decorated in America, probably by E.V. Haughwout, a major New York City retailer of porcelain, glassware and silverware. This form, with a bridge near the spout for holding back ice cubes, is also known as a “sweetheart pitcher,” because of the vaguely heart-shaped wreath on either side...

A well potted round covered box with underglaze blue decoration and extensive gilt outlining of the pattern of a bird in a bush. The Meissen crossed swords mark on the bottom is typical of the late 19th century. There is also in underglaze blue the number 46, which is probably the identification of the painter of the scene. Height 2 ½ inches, diameter 3 ½ inches (6 by 9 centimeters).

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Very slight gilding wear...

SOLD A Worcester mug with flared sides decorated in transfer printed underglaze blue of sprigs of natural flowers. Although it is unmarked the transfer on one side is identical to the one shown on the side of a Worcester marked jug shown in plate 282 of Godden’s Caughley and Worcester Porcelains 1775-1800. The transfers are well printed. 3 ¾ inches (9.5 cm) tall and a little more in diameter across the handle.

This porcelain charger or platter was produced in Germany by Donath Dresden before 1920. It has a diameter of 12 1/4 inches. The charger is beautifully hand painted in the Meissen style. There is a bouquet of realistic flowers rendered in vivid colors. Lacy gilding trims the rim. Condition: Excellent. This is a splendid charger for use or decoration.
