A wine glass rinser, rare because of the deep and beautiful red color. Wine rinsers or wine washers were used to cool or rinse wine glasses between courses of meals. Red was, by far, the least common color of glass in this period because of the expense in making since gold had to be added to the molten metal to achieve the color. This is a wonderful example in excellent condition. The height is 3 3/4 inches and the diameter is 4 5/16 inches. Polished pontil.

A rare form of slag glass, this late 19th century example is richly marbled throughout. It rests on a round foot which rises on a stem supporting a tiered crown for the straight paneled bowl. This specimen is in outstanding condition and retains its identification tag from its original collector.

A fine double series opaque twist wine glass with a bell bowl above a stem containing a pair of corkscrews outside of a single multi-ply corkscrew.

Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil. The condition of the glass is excellent, with no cracks, chips, or restoration. Good color, striations, and tooling marks. Any discolorations, specks, or streaks are due to the photos. The height of this fine piece is 6 3/4", with a bowl diameter of 2 13/16" and a foot diameter of 3".

An early Phoenix Art Glass hobnail sandwich peachblow pitcher. Graduating from shades of pink to yellow/cream, this pitcher features an applied clear satin reeded handle. A delightful piece to add to you collection, it is in excellent antique condition and measures 4.5 inches high x 5" diameter. Dates 1880's.

This crystal decanter was produced in the United States in the late 19th century. It is not marked, therefore we are unable to precisely identify the manufacturer. It is evident in the fine quality that it was produced by a respected company. The decanter is 8 1/2 inches high. The diameter of the base is 4 1/4 inches. Stunning single-vase epergne in blue opaline glass. The deeply ruffled edges of the trumpet vase contrasts with the gentler ruffle of the lower bowl. The coloring is particularly nice.

This pair of crystal compotes was made in England by Stevens & Williams around 1900. They measure 6 inches tall and the openings have a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. They are hand blown from clear crystal that varies from thicker areas to very thin. This type of crystal is often referred to as “rock crystal.” It imitated the mineral stone used by the Chinese. The bowls are expertly hand engraved and polished with ribbons and wreaths...

A marvelous and very rare Victorian patchbox, the body carved from a single piece of ivory and the cut crystal lid enclosing a cameo incrustation (“sulphide”) depicting a pansy. A ribbon tied around the flower’s stem reads “a moi”. This is a clever play on words. The French word for pansy is “pensé”, which is very nearly the same word used to mean “thought”. So, when combined with the words on the ribbon, the sulphide expresses the sentiment “Thoughts of me”...

This pair of crystal candle holders was produced in the early 20th century. We believe that they were made by an American glass company such as Libbey, Sinclaire or Pairpoint. There is no signature and the pattern does not lend itself to identification. They are 11 3/4 inches high and the diameter of the base is 4 1/4 inches. A large, Rubina, overshot, Bohemian glass jug, made likely by Harrach, around 1880. The jug is 10 inches (25,5 cm) tall and 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide (to handle-tip). Except for a small rim-chip, the jug is in good condition. Unpolished, recessed pontil. Unmarked - attributed to Harrach. The glass fluoresces in a gentle green coloration when subjected to black-light - typicall of 19th century soda-lime glass objects.
