Very nice glass calabash in aqua blue. One side features hands clasped across a patriotic shield surrounded by stars and olive branches and the word "Union". The other side is decorated with an American eagle grasping a banner, shield, arrows and olive branches. The calabash has a polished pontil on the bottom and an applied lip at the neck.

Origin: America, mid-19th century. Condition: excellent, no cracks or chips, nice molded detail, the pontil has some brownish surface discoloration...

This glass vase was produced in Kamenicky Senov, Bohemia by Josef Ahne in the late 19th century. The glass studio was in production from 1830 until 1909. This is one of the earlier pieces. The vase is 10 1/4 inches high and 8 inches wide. The opaline glass is hand blown with a polished bottom. The vase is signed Ahne and there is the number 5 on the bottom. There is a charming hand painted scene of a little girl looking at a clock. Ahne copied paintings by Italian and German artists...

A rare and beautiful sweetmeat with a double ogee bowl with an everted rim. The bowl is atop a set of 3 merises, below which is an opalescent stem with a double series opaque twist (dsot) composed of a 17 ply spiral band around a lace twist. At the bottom of the stem is a nicely domed and folded foot.

The glass is in overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There is a tiny 1/16" inclusion in the side of the bowl, not at all uncommon and truly of no importance...

Wine rinsers or wine washers were used to cool or rinse wine glasses between courses of meals. At formal meals of this type, beer or ale would not be served. Therefore, the engraving of hops and barley on this rinser is very unusual and a bit inexplicable, as this type engraving was specifically used on ale glasses. The rinser is 3 1/2" tall and 4' in diameter.

A pair of elegant Art Nouveau enameled Bohemian glass bowls with floriform decoration. The petals of a vivid pink flower curl up the sides and are interspersed with green tendrils. The flowers are echoed in the undulating rim decorated with a thin line of gilding. The overall workmanship is superb. This sort of decoration was produced by Theresienthal, Meyr’s Neffe, Lobmeyr or Fritz Heckert, and the quality of these pieces is consistent with any of those makers...

Offered is this exceptional and rare 'Astglas with Coral (Corallenaste)' glass vase with an iridescent application, made by Loetz around 1900 (please refer to Loetz.com for similar-decor vases). The vase / rose bowl is 4 inches (10 cm) wide and 3 3/4 inches (9,5 cm) high. It is in wonderful condition, without chips, cracks or repairs. Polished pontil. Unsigned, as expected. It has 8 inner-folded undulations on top, which are typical of Loetz.

A well proportioned baluster glass featuring a trumpet bowl raised on a drawn stem with a large annular medial knop. A virtually identical glass is classified in Bickerton's "Eighteenth Century English Drinking Glasses" as a heavy baluster. Conical folded foot with a rough snapped pontil.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hazing, or restoration. The height is 6 1/2", with a bowl diameter of 2 5/8" and a foot diameter of 2 3/4". Ex collection of Tony Stout.
