A lovely large brass alloy / bronze vessel, dating to the late 17th. cent. probably 1680-1710, workshop Nürenberg and maker was Johann Windhösel - Leuchtmacher and cappucine munk in the city in that period.

Very decorative and fine quality baroque art. The vessel with loops in the form of human figures for suspending the chains. The vessel is c. 98 cm. when hanging.

Condition: Choice and intact with a nice patina and smooth wear from use and polishing.

A rare early Ortodox Icon Jesus Kristus Pantokrator, stamped and dated, Moskva, 1874.

Finely handpainted Icon with a beautifully chiseled Ritza in high grade silver 84. The piece was made by Viktor Sawinkows 1855-1888, stamped with his mark.

A superb 19th century Imperial Russian wooden Easter egg with polychrome decoration of Christ arising from the tomb flanked by a pair of angels. The scene is beautifully colored and shows dynamic movement. The reverse of the egg bears the gilt letters “XB” for “Christ is Risen.” The egg is completed with its original blue silk ribbon, appropriately worn with age...

A pair of icon fragments done on wood with extensive gold highlights. They are both from the same icon, which, I believe, depicted the Four Evangelists. The painting is of exceptional quality, as the photos will hopefully confirm. While I believe that they in fact date to the 17th century, I am conservatively dating them to the 19th or earlier. The panels measure 3-1/2" X 5-3/8" and 3-3/8" X 5-1/2", respectively. Rare and beautiful examples.

Lost wax cast bronze Christ. Probably original wooden cross. The fine quality sculpture is certainly the work of a good artist. It would be interesting and profitable to find out who it is. Authentic antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox 3-folded brass triptych traveling icon. The center panel depicts St Nicholas the Wonder Worker blessing with his right hand, with the Book of Gospel in his left hand, surmounted on the top by the finial illustrating The Vernicle (The Holy Face of Christ). Rare and important head of a bearded centurion wearing his helmet, his face showing a strong and fierce expression. Polychrome wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Of Spanish origin, dating back to the 18th century, this head was found in the Philipines in 1978. Height: 30.3 cm. Old accidents and restorations mostly around the helmet (see photos), otherwise very good condition. NOTE: This head belonged originally to a large statue which was displayed beside a large crucifix.

Probably, our finest and surely the heaviest silver icon, we've had for a while! Russian Orthodox icon with an amazing wrought and chisseled Oklad, dating 1871.

This is NOT the usual foliage thin silver sheet oklad but a a heavy thick hammered and chisseled silver oklad in a baroque style with relief heads in each corner and weighing several 100s of grams in .84 silver. Monstrance (reliquary)in cast bronze and chiseled copper. Gilding quick-silver. Base weighted by lead. Disassembles into 2 parts. It has not been cleaned for a very long time, so the gilding appears orange under a layer of oxidation, smoke and dirt. This is antique ecclesiastical sheet music in Latin, from earlier centuries, commonly known as an "antiphonal". These are normally seen as hand painted manuscripts on vellum (animal skin). The present example (19 3/4" by 14") is a rather typical example, with red bars, brown/sepia lettering and notes and a few capital letters in colors (in this case, one blue, one red).
