A 800 silver ritual mug, embossed with floral and leaf decoration, with cartouche in the front and a fly in the back. Made in Germany circa 1900, approx. 3' (7.5 cms.) high. The top of the mug handle is decorated with a bust of a man.

Rare and important head of a bearded centurion wearing his helmet, his face showing a strong and fierce expression. Polychrome wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Of Spanish origin, dating back to the 18th century, this head was found in the Philipines in 1978. Height: 30.3 cm. Old accidents and restorations mostly around the helmet (see photos), otherwise very good condition. NOTE: This head belonged originally to a large statue which was displayed beside a large crucifix.

Very well crafted French crucifix, of ebonized wood mounted with a nickeled cast Corpus Christi with carved terminating cross ends, overall height 16.75 inches (42.5 cm). From 19th century period, overall in good condition.

Antique 19th century Russian Orthodox Christian brass traveling triptych folded icon" Deesis with Selected Saints."

Opened, the central leaf shows Christ enthroned in the attitude of blessing with Gospels, flanked by John the Baptist and the Virgin. The left leaves display St. John the Theologian, the saints' prelates Nicholas the Wonderworker and Metropolitan Philip.

This marvelous piece of ancient pottery is an offering vessel, sometimes referred to as a "spirit jar", from roughly the Five Dynasties period (907-960 AD) of Classic Imperial China. This interesting little ceramic figure is purportedly from the Majapahit period (1293-1500)of Eastern Java. Possibly a religious figure, it is barefoot and has tribal head-dress and flowing robes. There does appear to be a light colored glaze underneath the surface dirt which I have not attempted to remove or clean. The statue is just under 20 cm in height and weighs 444 grams. This is a truly unique piece of ancient artwork, the likes of which we have not seen...

Small Christ in cast bronze, traces of gilding. French medieval 13th century. The bronze has a beautiful old patina, there is very little gilding left. He wears a loincloth and an Egyptian headdress. A stylized flower appears to be drawn on his belly. It was mounted on a gilded wooden frame probably in the 18th century. Height of Christ alone 95mm. Good condition, no repairs, normal wear for the period, beautifull original patina.

A pair of icon fragments done on wood with extensive gold highlights. They are both from the same icon, which, I believe, depicted the Four Evangelists. The painting is of exceptional quality, as the photos will hopefully confirm. While I believe that they in fact date to the 17th century, I am conservatively dating them to the 19th or earlier. The panels measure 3-1/2" X 5-3/8" and 3-3/8" X 5-1/2", respectively. Rare and beautiful examples.
