Scarce pottery Jug, Varde in Denmark, ca. 16th.-18th. century AD.

These black-glazed pottery jugs and pots were made from medieval times to 19th. century. This particular jug is one of the finest examples we've seen from the region around Varde that produced the best pottery in Jutland. Finely made with glossy black glaze.

Size: 20-21 cm. tall, incl. the lid.

Condition: Hairline repairs and small chip to lid, as is typical for this fragile type...

A very fine and scarce flint glass water goblet in the Magnet & Grape pattern produced probably 4th quarter of the 19th C., the scarcity owing to the frosted leaf, most of which were unfrosted. The glass is clear but watery...

Fabulous brass and copper picture frame in the Aesthetic Japonaise style. The basketweave pattern of the brass frame is detailed with raised copper decorative elements that include a crane standing in a stream, bamboo and cherry blossoms. The back has an easel. The frame is 3.5" x 2.75". The oval opening with glass is 2.25" x 1.5". Circa 1870.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is hand painted with garlands of vibrant flowers. Swags and scallops of forget-me-nots and tiny roses spill across each piece. There is delicate gilding around the border, rims and handle. A Victorian English silver plated biscuit caddy or barrel with a carved finial from the 1880s. This hand engraved silver plated Victorian English piece stands 7-3/8" tall to the top of the hand-carved bone finial, and the attached base measures 7-7/8" x 6". The engraving is quite fine, and there are no monograms on either panel; it is stamped 88 339 BENET FINK & Co 89 CHEAPSIDE LONDON...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by the Samson studio in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The set is made of fine translucent porcelain. It is elaborately hand decorated and gilded. There are colorful birds of paradise surrounded by greenery. Elegant scrolled borders encircle the rims of the cup and saucer. There are gilded accents on the rims and handle...

A lovely satin glass 7" raspberry red and white drape Nailsea vase with applied handles by Wheeling Glass. The pontil is unpolished.

Gorham sterling silver child's place setting in Zodiac pattern, including fork, spoon and knife, bearing the Pisces fish symbol for February. Patented 1894. Engraved on handles with initials "E.H.L.S." Size: Fork - 5 5/8" Spoon - 5 3/4" Knife - 7 1/4".

A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document. It weighs 41.6 grams...

This Zeh Scherzer & Co. vase bears the portrait of Louise, Queen of Prussia ( March 10, 1776- July 19, 1810) She is admired for unflinching courage in which she bore the sufferings on her and her family during the war between Prussia and France. This vase is chocolate brown with a gold rim. It is 8" x 4". This vase is not hallmarked. This vase is circa 1880. There is what appears to be a hairline on the inside of the lip of the vase...

Folk Art duck decoy, hand carved from wood with black round stopper for eye. The bird is painted black with white highlights and grey bill. Tail fins are carved in wood.
CONDITION: signs of wear on the base, missing leather strap for pulling the decoy in the water.

A 13 3/8 inch (34 cm) diameter Dutch delft blue and white charger depicting a vase with a pedestal base in the center and an elaborate chinoiserie border on the outer lip. 18th century more likely earlier than later.

Condition; major chunk out of left edge replaced but discernable by discoloration of the paint over. Losses along the edge all around the dish.

A Bohemian cased and parcel gilt glass beaker, c 1870. Of octagonal shape, the sides facet-cut leaving eight oval reserves in ruby red surrounded by gilt ornaments in the style typical of this period. Height "5 ¼/ 13,5 cm. Condition: wear to the gilt decoration.

Early 19th century Bohemian hand blown and skillfully engraved small glass beaker from Baden. The engraved inscription reads: “Trinkhalle in Baden” (Drinking Hall at Spa Baden).
CONDITION: good, no chips, cracks, or repairs.
MEASUREMENTS: Height: 3 inches (7,6 cm). Diameter at the top: 2 inches (5,1 cm).

Elegant sterling silver bread fork, the handle decorated with beading and acanthus leaves. The decoration at the top of the curved tines repeats the motif of the handle. Bread forks are relatively uncommon and were used for serving various breads and rolls. The handle is marked by an unknown maker.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, sharp detail, no monogram. Size: 6-3/4” long. Weight: 23.0 grams.

A barrel shape tumbler with engraved decoration of tassels and flower garlands. C 1810-20, Swedish Empire period (just before the enthronement of the still reigning Bernadotte dynasty). Polished pontil mark. Height "3½/ 9,4 cm. Condition: fine.

A hand hammered brass teapot with rattan wrapped handle, probably Germany, c 1910. Together with a burner by Jan Eisenlöffel, c 1900. The burner with “hammered” dark blue glass walls made in the 1990’s to fit the exact style of the original. Height of teapot "7½/ 19 cm, width "8/ 20 cm, width of burner "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine.
