This nice early cloth doll has one of the best ink and water color painted face that I have had. She has a nice round head, real hair and sweet little applied ears. She feels like she is stuffed with cotton and rags. Her brown socks continue up to her waist and they are sewn on but her legs and arms feel attached rather than continuous. She has on a wonderful age appropriate wool print dress. There are several big hole in it but it is a lined top so it isn't very obvious...

These little handmade Civil War era dolls are some of my favorite. This one has on a heavy satin dress with a brown egg wash chintz cotton petticoat. she has a net bonnet adorned with a white ribbon over real hair. She is wearing the tiniest metal eye glasses I have ever seen. She has little rolled arms and a stump body that never had legs. Her dress is melting a bit above her waist and there is a crack in the nut shell but an old one and it is hard to see because she is so small...

19th C. crepe paper doll dress is the best blue color. It has a lighter blue crepe paper belt with a gold paper buckle. It opens and slips over the paper dolls head. It is in very nice condition. 3 1/2" top to bottom and is circa 1880

A nice early antique cloth doll with an amazing brown calico dress. She has a sweet ink drawn face with big round eyes. She has applied black fabric on the back of her head representing hair. She has an hour glass body with a tiny waist. Under her calico dress is a early petticoat and pantaloons. She has sewn on brown polished cotton fabric shoes or boots. Her dress is sewn on and the dress is fragile. The hem either never was done or it has more than likely been cut off to accommodate this doll...

Dressed in a blue calico dress this sweet little stump rag doll has a lot going for her. She has an ink drawn face, a lollipop head, and a body that flares out but stops at the hips and never had legs. If I was a mother back in the 19th C. I would have been mighty pleased with myself that I thought up the stump doll concept. It really works, and makes for a very nice doll. She is rag stuffed, has dainty little arms, and a nice blue calico striped dress...

A wonderful character cloth doll that just might be one of the earliest selfies. I can imagine a grandmother making a doll in her likeness to give to a child that is not living close by but loves her Grammy. This doll has a face created by using same color thread and string to sew on the face for knotted string eyes, applied nose and a golden floss for her mouth. She is made with a heavy cotton homespun and is stuffed with a grain. She is very heavy...

A very nice 19th C. doll with embroidered face, calico button eyes, a tiny cute upside down u shaped nose, yarn hair, a bit sparse and looks like a trim job by little hands and scissors. She has a body firmly stuffed with cotton. She has an hour glass figure and nicely jointed so she sits easily. Her dress is not original but fits her really nicely and she has a gathered top purse to go along with her dress and hat. She is 25" tall and is circa 1880-90. She is a bright and happy doll.

A very nice and unusual pencil face doll with sewn on brown ticking skirt that was made as a stump doll. She never had legs, see picture. She is 10" to the bottom of her skirt and 8" to the bottom of her body. She is firmly stuffed with cotton and is truly a prairie type country primitive doll. Circa 1880-90.

A very nice stockinette face doll with button eyes and embroidered eyebrows, nose and mouth. She has raveled yarn hair, she has attached arms and legs and sewn on stockinette shoes. She has wear on hands and on her black stockings. She is firmly stuffed with cotton. She is looking for Vera Wang but until then is wearing a camisole and pantaloons. She is 20" tall and is circa 1890

Five early paper dolls dressed in crepe paper dresses. When I bought them I was told they were made to hang on the Christmas tree and it is true some of the have thread hangers on the back. They are very nice and unusual. They range in size from 7 1/2" to about 10" and date to the 1880's.

6 French majolica asparagus plates with a yellow basket weave pattern edged by a scalloped turquoise rim. The plates features 4 purple tipped asparagus spears laying on a large green artichoke leaf against a turquoise ground. Although difficult to see in photo, there is a well on the right side of the plate for a sauce or melted butter. From the Salins-les-Bains region of eastern France this plate dates circa 1875. Circa 1860 superb French bronze jewelry casket with velvet lining on 4 lion paw feet. With excellent detailing throughout, the lid features a foliate head known as Greenman and is bordered with roses and acanthus leaves. It has a lock on the front but the key is no longer with it. Measures 9.75" long by 5" high and 5.25 inches front to back. Weight about 9 lbs.

A Pair of French Bisque High Relief Wall Plaques in their Original 19th Century Frames. One Depicts a Mother and Child and the other Two Lovers. Circa 1880. There is an imbedded disk on the back showing a cupid with a lyre, which we have not been able to identify (see picture). Dimensions; frame 11.25" square, plaque 6.5" in frame, 7" total. Excellent condition.

An outstanding pair of studio quality candlesticks from the hands of famed ceramicist Clement Massier of free form with fully modeled frogs and snails. The glaze is a complex interplay between faintly iridescent gold and hollandaise yellow. Signed C(lement) M(assier) Golfe Juan AM on underside. Excellent condition.

Fabulous hard paste porcelain inkwell in the form of a lady's head. Nicely decorated in overglaze enamels with gilt accents. 19th century. Origin: Probably France. Size: 2-5/16" tall. Condition: Mint.

A Handpainted Porcelain Plaque of a Fisherman; probably French (Limoges). The plaque is 14" round and it is a 22" frame. Late 19th century. Excellent condition.

A Frence Faience Roccoco Style Tureen and Cover. Cover with Cauliflower, Carrot and Turnip Top. Bowl with C-scroll handles. Dimensions; 10" x 9.75" x 11.5" high; weight approximately 5 pounds. Circa 1890. Normal wear for old faience.

This ceramic box with brass mounts was produced in France by Gien around 1875. It is 6 1/2 inches high and has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The ceramic is soft paste with a tin glaze similar to majolica. If you run your fingers around the piece, you can actually feel the enamel painting. It is richly decorated with cherubs, fountains, and ornate scrolls, all on a cobalt blue background. The designs are all hand painted...
