A very rare set of (probably) English 9-7/8" plates in a variant of the original Blue Willow pattern. We haven't been able to accurately identify this pattern with its distinctive border butterflies in our books, however they are definitely Georgian. The porcelain is the expected light gray and the decoration is slightly blurred and each plate has the expected frit and minor variations from the manufacture of these items...

Rare English, circa 1824, footed Georgian christening mug with a foliate capped double scroll handle. The body is chased and embossed with rose and leaf motif. In excellent condition, it measures about 3 3/8th high b 2 3/4" diameter at the mouth. Hallmarked.

A German 1820's cabinet cup and saucer with burnished and matte gilt decoration of Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s new theater building in Berlin, inaugurated in 1821 and nowadays concert hall. Inscribed “Das neue Schauspielhaus in Berlin”. Height "4½/ 11 cm. Condition: rubbing to the gilt on the saucer and inside the cup (cf. pics.).

An Early 19th Century Ironstone Sauce Tureen with Lid, Handles and Underplate; in Imari Colors. Probably by Mason's, circa 1820. Dimensions; Tureen 6.5" high x 7.5" wide, stand; 7.5" in diameter. Excellent condition.

A scarce English Pratt ware Lord Nelson and Capt. Berry jug made between 1798-1806. We believe it was made to commemorate either the Battle of the Nile (a significant English military battle of 1798) or the battle of Trafalgar (1805), a most significant English military battle still commemorated today in England on Trafalgar Day...

Up for sale is a very rare large antique Chinese export round shape famille rose plate, hand painted and glazed, picture depicting an imperial family member wearing bright yellow robe together with other officials, total of 7 characters, and a little black and white dog in the lower right,18th century. Overall is in very good condition, no crack, no chip, very minor wear. ( see picture ). Measurements: Dia 13-5/8" ( 34.5cm ) x 1-1/2" ( 4cm ) height

An antique Spode stone china covered bowl with transfer and hand painted designs in the Imari palette featuring floral motifs in the Chinese style. These wonderful early ceramic pieces are a treat to find, and often bear evidence of their 200 years of life, and this one is no different. The foot suffers 2 small chips which we have photographed, and the outside and underside have foxing as shown in the photographs...

A pair of English Leeds or Staffordshire creamware plates, early 19th century. In the centre a Tudor rose in relief/raised, the well and the pierced outer rim of the same rose shape. Condition: a few glaze bubbles to the rim of both plates. Diameter "8/ 20 cm.

Large blue and white teacup of ogee shape and saucer bowl, in the Fitzhugh pattern. Chinese export porcelain from the early years of the 19th century, c 1810-20. Diameter of saucer "6 ¼ / 16 cm and of cup "4 ½ / 11 cm. Condition: the cup with two short hairlines and a nick to the mouth rim.

This set of 11 flint glass cordial glasses was produced around 1830.  It was probably made at the Sandwich glass factory or some other renowned New England glass company.  They measure 3 1/2 inches high and the diameter of the opening is 1 3/4 inches.  These glasses are hand blown with a rough pontil on the foot.  They are cut with a panel pattern...

A porcelain two handled small tureen with cover and stand (this could possibly be a very large ecuelle) in a classical urn form with the handles having hooded classical female faces. The form is similar to one sold as Nove at Sotheby’s Zurich November 25, 1992 lot 126, illustrated. This one decorated with hunting horns and flowers on one side and a quiver and bow with flowers on the other. Extensive gilding and floral bands on the top and on the stand. Overall height 8 inches (20 cm)...

A common form of pitcher made by the Tucker factory in Philadelphia around 1830. It is unmarked as is often true for Tucker, but the form is theirs, the decoration typical of their floral work and the gilding similar to other Tuccker pitchers. 9 3/8 inches (24 cm) tall.

Condition; Terrible, dropped, broken, not particularly well re-glued and having a few cracks associated with the breaks. Firing flaw across the handle with an associated crack. Gilding wear on the handle...

Sterling silver tastevin made in Paris in the early 19th century, the handle decorated with a little bunch of grapes and leaves. One half with convex and concave indentations and the other godrooned, a classic and functional design showing the colour of the wine. There are three hallmarks: to the exterior a male head in profile right for Paris, introduced 1819, and a worn insect mark (“bigorne” mark), the interior with the Paris guarantee mark of a Dionysian head in profile left...

Portuguese Azulejo Ceramic Tile from old building in Madeira Portugal, 5 1/4" square, 3/8" deep, hand painted with old traditional colors, the condition is good.

Heavy storage jar signed "ME", by Dave the Slave. His fingerprints are on the bottom of the jar and it measures 7" Height, and 5" in width. The Edgefield pottery expert believes that this jar was made by Dave the Slave. This is the shortest poem written by Dave the Slave.

Actually, this type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and featheredge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge; elaborate raised tree and floral decoration; 10" diameter. Excellent condition.

Alt Wien / Old Vienna dish or plate – originally a stand for a vase or small tureen – with sparse decoration of stylized little tulips within a dark red border. The modern-looking design is a deceiver: the shape of the Royal Vienna Porcelain factory underglaze blue shield mark on the base shows a production date in the Empire period around 1800. Diameter "9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: two small spots of glaze wear to the center, from the foot rim of vase or tureen.

A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. The specific border used for this pattern adapts itself well to the lobed shape of the rim. Around 1800, unmarked, possibly Spode. Diameter "8¾/ 22 cm. Condition: fine.
