A lovely enamel silver box, made in the mid 20th. century and mounted with an exceptional quality baroque carving of winged Puttis, c. late 17th. century AD.

High quality silver work in sterling silver with enamel, probably Austrian work (?). In the center a fantastic detailed pastorial carving of 4 Puttis eating grapes and carressing a lamb, probably a work from a Flemish master (Flandern).

A stunning and very early carved head for a wig, in oak wood, gothic style of the late Scandinavian renaissance, c. 1630-60.

Very attractive features, almond eyes, thick brows and a pointed beard. This wig heads becomes common in the later 18th. century, but heads this early are exceedingly rare!

Height: c. 40 cm. - a large and impressive antiquity, that would look good with an original 17th. c. helmet as well as a wig.

Chinese Han Dynasty Gilt Bronze Chimera Wonderful Chinese Han Dynasty figure of a chimera. The mythical creature is whimsically posed with it's head turned over it's shoulder and it's mouth wide with it's tongue out. It's feet are hooves and on it's back are wings. Made of bronze and gilded, beautiful patina, eyes are made of inlaid turquoise.

A lovely renaissance style pewter flagon or jug, made by Ulrich Appel in Nuremberg, Germany c. mid-late 17th. century.

Ulrich Appel became a master of pewter in 1659 and this vessel would have been made shortly thereafter.

Our best and earliest bronze travellers icon. A very early and attractive bronze travellers icon, made way before the Ban on bronze travellers icon making by Peter the Great in 1722. This icon dates to the 16th. century with the fine renaissance style. Note the fine loop, decorated with the head of Christ.

Beautiful and very early Italian Majolica Faience, Apothecary Jar, marked Bassano and dated to the year 1715!

Early dated European Apothecary jars are very rarely found and this is a great specimen in blue and white glaze and Gothic writing. The mixture held in the jar was 'Sempe De Portulaca'. Albarello shape and quite large.

A strictly museum quality, large pottery figure of a male attendant, dating to the mid Ming Dynasty, ca. 1500 AD.

The figure stands on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour blue and torqoise glazed robe. Under his arm he holds a bottle.

He wears a high hat. Finely painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures.

Monstrance (reliquary)in cast bronze and chiseled copper. Gilding quick-silver. Base weighted by lead. Disassembles into 2 parts. It has not been cleaned for a very long time, so the gilding appears orange under a layer of oxidation, smoke and dirt. The gilding is perfectly preserved. It is in excellent condition, no part missing. The roof is held to the uprights by 2 rivets, one has been replaced. The glass was replaced late. Small Christ in cast bronze, traces of gilding. French medieval 13th century. The bronze has a beautiful old patina, there is very little gilding left. He wears a loincloth and an Egyptian headdress. A stylized flower appears to be drawn on his belly. It was mounted on a gilded wooden frame probably in the 18th century. Height of Christ alone 95mm. Good condition, no repairs, normal wear for the period, beautifull original patina.

This interesting little ceramic figure is purportedly from the Majapahit period (1293-1500)of Eastern Java. Possibly a religious figure, it is barefoot and has tribal head-dress and flowing robes. There does appear to be a light colored glaze underneath the surface dirt which I have not attempted to remove or clean. The statue is just under 20 cm in height and weighs 444 grams.
