Victorian brooch or pin, a bunch of fruit an d flowers made up of Gutta Percha. This dark brown material, a predecessor of bakelite - was first introduced in the great Crystal Palace exhibition in 1851 and was often used in mourning jewelry pieces after the death of Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert, in 1861. Made from the sap of a Malayan tree. Width " 1 ½ / 4 cm. Condition: a leaf or two missing under the biggest fruit (cf. pics).

A Furstenberg hard paste porcelain cup and saucer decorated with bands and sprigs of sepia and black flowers with gilt rims and highlights. Both pieces are marked with an underglaze script F and a number (9). The arched handle is typical of early 19th century tea wares. The style continued in the middle of the century, though this style of sepia decoration is more usual in the earlier part of the century...

A large goblet by Pairpoint engraved in the “Waterford” pattern. The goblet shape is shown as “Unknown 72.” The 6 ½ inch tall goblet is colorless with a cobalt blue stem.

A porcelain dinner plate decorated with a gilt rim, a gilt rope with flowers on the lip and floral sprays in the well. Marked in overglaze red enamel on the back “B/Potter/1” The mark is probably from around 1794 for the short lived partnership of Potter and Blancheron.

Condition: Two hairlines and some stacking wear

A small cloisonné enamel dish, unusual colors: rusty brown and turquoise green peony, the back with bamboo leafs and grapes in dark blue and black. Japanese, late 19th century. Diameter "3 ½/ 9.2 cm. Condition: enamel loss, esp. to the back (cf. pics).

An Austrian Puss In Boots handpainted cup & saucer circa 1900. This Arts and Crafts era Austrian handpainted 2-5/8" tall demitasse cup and matching 4-1/2" saucer depicts Puss in Boots walking on a country road with a windmill, trees and hills in the background. It is stamped MADE IN AUSTRIA DEUTSCHE VOLKSMARCHEN on the back of the saucer, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing...

Sterling silver lettuce fork in International's 1907 "Margaret" pattern. Originally intended to serve iceberg lettufe (a luxurious rarity at the time), the fork could be used for many other foods today. The reverse is marked with International's old hallmark.

Outstanding sterling silver master salt spoon in a rococo pattern by Gorham. I have not been able to put a name to this assymetrical pattern, although it is very similar to "Marie Antoinette" and "Dresden". The bowl is parcel gilt. The reverse is marked with Gorham's old hallmark.

Origin: America, circa 1885. Condition: excellent, gilding intact, crisp details, period mongram "Y". Size: 3-5/8" long.

An enamel and gilt clasp, French, cloisonné decoration in the Empire revival style of the 1880’s. Width "2/ 5,5 cm. Condition: a few hardly visible chips to the enamel.

A powder blue ground cup with elaborate gilding and two reserved oval panels on opposite sides with a spray of European flowers. Unusual for Chinese Export porcelain the two panels are recess molded. Other examples of this period exist with molding in the body, this ground and elaborate gilding. The inspiration is European, probably German, perhaps Meissen. The cup is 2 inches (5 cm) tall and 3 ½ inches (9 cm) diameter.

A decorative silverplated footed and handled candy basket with the original glass liner c1900. This 6-1/2" tall server is 5-1/2" across, it has an openwork window-style design and pierced handle, and it is stamped with the Canadian Meriden mark with an 1890 pattern number. A Sheffield plate helmet style cream jug circa 1780-1800. This 5" high genuine cream pitcher predates electroplating and it consists of thin layers of silver laid on to copper sheets; the sandwich of metals is then formed into the desired object. This unsigned creamer is in good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs; it has the expected areas of copper blush from polishing over the last couple of centuries...

Sterling silver bonbon spoon in Baker-Manchester’s 1900 “Spartan” pattern. The wonderful design incorporates a knight’s helmet with exuberant feathers and foliage. The matte-finished bowl has both pierced and bright-cut decoration. The reverse is marked with Baker-Manchester’s hallmark and the patent date.

An English silver plate set of six pastry forks and server in the box from the 1910 era. This lovely set consists of six 5-1/8" pastry forks, the 5-3/4" two-tine pastry server and the fitted velvet and silk lined fitted box. The box is wrapped with a mottled brown leather-style cover and it has a pushbutton release. The utensils are stamped J.E&S S EP (for Joseph Elliot & Sons (Sheffield, England c1878-c1972) and this set would make a great gift...

This fine Ruby Block goblet was made by several manufacturers during the 1880s and beyond. It features hexagonal blocks surrounded by diamond "cuts", but it is pressed glass of course, made in 4 parts, the bowl being fused to the stem.

Known by many names and made by many companies, this goblet is unusual because the top is ruby stained, a reversal of the usual placement. Souvenir of Lewistown, PA is faintly scripted...

Early Chinese export Rose Medallion porcelain condiment dish. The details are very finely painted and vibrantly colored. China, ca. 1860's. Excellent condition; the gilding along the top edges is worn away; no chips or cracks. 3-1/8" x 2-3/8" x 11/16".
