An exceptional, antique 17th century, Eastern European, Fork-shaped gun powder-flask, made of deer antlers fitted with a brass nozzle and two iron suspension rings.

The outer side is finely engraved with scrimshaw traditional motifs including sun with rotating rays, scrolls and geometrical pattern in the form of the standing figures...

Lace collar, probably linen. Was offered for sale in 1908 in London by the Windsor auction house, appraised by a certain Mr Knox as being a rose point lace, Venetian work from middle 17th century or a later French copy from the period of the reign of Louis XIV. The lace is kept in a wall display frame, it is placed on a Chinese silk background with secret embroidery, visible only in raking light. On the back of the frame is stuck the original of the expertise...

Poesy rings were popular in England and France during the 16th through the 17th centuries as lover's gifts. The quotations were often from courtship stories and are usually inscribed on the inner surface of the ring as is the case in this one. This ring amusingly reads "A virtuous Wife Preferreth Life". We imagine that in the 17th century, a woman was indeed better off being virtuous! We think this could make a more unusual and unique wedding band than a gold band...

A rare early dated pewter flagon with a finely worked spout, lid and thumbrest, Germany, ca. mid-later 17th. century.

A Kangxi period very large baluster- shaped jar and cover, decorated in blue and white with the body showing 36 panels each enclosing a composition of butterflies amongst leafy peony sprays. The borders also reflect a floral image whilst the cover repeats the themes of the panels. A fine cotton exemplar textile fragment from Perugia, Italy, dating back to the 16th century. Foliage and mythological figures, distinctive themes used in Perugia, cover the piece which has been carefully mounted on a cotton covered board.

Overall condition is very fine, with some minor and easily cleaned surface dirt. The size is 21" by 9".

A Spanish Brass Candlestick, circa 1700. Dimensions; 8.5" high x 5" square base. Weight, approximately 1 pound 14 ounces. Very fine condition. Note, although not a pair, it may be used in conjunction with item 1848.

A fine 17th century French tapestry table runner, with the motif weaving flowers and fruit throughout the piece. The overall condition is excellent, with no holes or tears. Carefully laid down on a linen backing. The length is 67" and the width is 13 3/4".

Acquired from a long time private collection, where it was used as a table display piece, but could certainly be used, in smaller segments, to make a number of exquisite pillows.

A renaissance bronze figure, Italian, Venice, and in a superb style with the stylistic hallmark of the Roccatagliata workshop, c. 16th.- early 17th. century.

The figure is made of bell metal and depicts a Cupid with spread wings holding a scroll with the portrait bust of Christ. He is standing on a stepped podium and mounted to a heavy black base.

Size: 15 cm. tall including the black stone base and 10,4 cm. for the figure alone.

A very attractive large Oak figure of a Catholic Benedictine monk, European, probably Germany or Holland, c. later 16th. century.

The figure depicts a younger monk with the typical dress and tonsure hair. He is standing on a octagonal plint. Remnants of the original colours especially to the head.

Height: c. 48 cm. and quite massive and heavy.

Condition: Nice Ver fine for the size and high age, loss to hands, and age cracks and very sound wood.

A hand painted blue and white tile of a wolf, at least that is what it looks like though the head is a little odd, in profile running to the left. The animal is surrounded by a circle of a wavy line with dots in the wave troughs. Flowers fill the corners. It is 5 1/8 inches (13 cm) square about ½ inch (1.2 cm) tall.
