This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in France in the late 19th century. We believe it was produced by a Paris manufacturer who used a faux Sevres mark on it. The saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is very delicate and translucent. The cup is molded with melon ribs, has a scalloped rim and a fancy handle. A pair of porcelain plates with a maroon and gilt border and complex bouquet of flowers in the center. Hand painted. On the back in a printed scroll, "ED. HONORE" and address, Boulevard Poissoniere Number 6. The mark is the same as the mark on the china that the company provided for the White House in 1846/47 to President Polk. 8 and 3/4 inches (22 cm) diameter.
