This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 ½ inches and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 ¼ inches high. The porcelain is fine, white, hard paste. There is a hand painted scene on the front of the cup with colorful exotic birds. The saucer has little insects scattered about. Offered is this beautiful, hand-painted, cut, cased glass (three-layer casing: white on the outside, cobalt on the inside and clear in-between) vase. It is 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) wide and 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) high. It is in excellent condition. The clear-glass pontil was left partly polished, since it is recessed (see last picture). unsigned - could have been made by either Moser, Pfohl or another Bohemian maker.
