English, most likely Bilston, eighteenth century. The elongated oval shape, all over floral decoration, and the unusual brown painted panels are not infrequent characteristics of Bilston’s “gingham finish” enamel boxes, hence the Bilston attribution.

Fine cracks to enamel, and small losses on both sides and back.

Drum-form neck in silver collar with tooled flowers and scrolls. Silver ovoid and faceted stopper with flowers and scenes of gallantry. Pierced silver border at base with scrolls and shells. Marks include maker’s stamp for Vereinigte Silberwarenfabrik in Hanau. Good condition.

19th century cast iron figure of an angel raising a laurel wreath above her head and holding a ship's anchor. Obviously intended as a symbol of the wishes for a sailor's safe return from the sea, the plaque was probably used to decorate the wall of a sailor's home in an Atlantic coast seaport.

Moser hand blown lime green fading to clear vase embellished with 3 rows of applied prunts, a wide diamond cut band, a plethora of gold enameled scroll work and floral designs throughout. The base or foot is softly paneled. In excellent condition, no cracks, no repairs, no chips, minimal wear to gold gilt on lip, it measures 8.5 inches high. Dates circa 1890-1910.
