Fantastic pottery double-handled urn decorated in an underglaze blue floral transfer and clobbered with overglaze iron red, yellow and purple pigments. The effect is much like chintz china, but with stronger coloring. The bottom bears the mark used by Cauldon Potteries from 1905 to 1920. The form and size of this vase, combined with its rich coloring, makes for a truly stunning piece of Staffordshire pottery.

An English Georgian Sterling Toddy or Punch Ladle with a Coin from the Reign of George II in the Center of the Bowl. A Mt. Washington scalloped rim bowl decorated with orchids. The 3 3/4 inch diameter, 2 3/4 inch tall satin finish bowl has subtle diagonal ribs and a polished pontil mark. The color shades from pale lavender on the flared rim to colorless at the bottom. The coloration appears similar to the bowl shown in plate 10-17 on page 243 in Wilson’s “Mt Washington & Pairpoint Glass” and the decoration matches that on the sugar shaker in plate 10-18 of the same book.

A fine pair of 19th century clambroth glass candle holders. Stout but elegant baluster turned sticks with broad, stable feet. Fine and practical decorative accents. The reference to clambroth says it all - the milky glass almost translucent (more so toward the foot - see second illustration) with opaque bubbles throughout. Good condition. These are probably pretty early and likely not common to fetch a pair. Would be a refreshing "stand in" for brass in period interior...

This is an extremely unusual American 12 tube candle mold, made of tin and painted black. I have seen many candle molds in my time, but don't recall ever seeing one with the type decoration that this one has. The front and side have charming and whimsical squiggles of gold paint.
Overall condition is excellent, with the usual spots of paint loss and wear, and some nicks to the base. All the tubes are present, all the paint is original, and there have been no repairs...
