Flint EAPG goblet in the "Washington" pattern produced by the New England Glass Company. The clarity is excellent.

A beautiful and vibrant chausable set from the mid 18th century, comprised of the chausable, the maniple, the chalice cover, and mat. The deep, rich purple damask of the material is set off by the intricate embroidered orphrey on the chausable and maniple. Even the cover and mat, made of the same damask, have embroidered crosses on them, and are bordered with metallic thread. Overall condition is very good, with some scattered splits and stains.

A wonderful double sided smalt trade sign for D.M. Woodward, Doctor of Chiropractic. The gilded letters and the black smalt background are virtually intact and vibrant. The frame is original, and measures 28 3/4 inches by 14 inches by 2 inches deep. There is a small sliver out of the frame at one upper edge, and a small gap in the frame at the corner. Aside from these very minor flaws, the piece is in excellent condition.

A charming oil on cardboard American folk art painting of a white clapboard house with a red porch, set amidst trees and greenery. Overall very fine condition with some truly minor scuffs. The gilt frame is period. Sight size is 16 inches by 12 inches.

A fine pair of sterling silver sugar tongs in the classic “Kings” pattern. The design is very nicely worked and the tongs are generously sized. The inside of the tongs are fully hallmarked for London, 1837. They also bear the William IV duty mark. This mark, used in conjunction with the 1837 date mark, was used for only 22 days before being changed to the Victoria duty mark. The maker’s mark is that of either William Barber or William Barrett II.

A lovely pair of hyacinth vases in teal blue glass. The classic shape is slightly conical with a widely flaring rim for resting the bulb over the water. These vases are especially attractive because of their rich color. Forcing hyacinths and other bulbs to bloom indoors was something of a Victorian passion that continued well into the 20th century.

Very nice Imperial Russian peacock blue pressed glass tea box. Glass tea caddies are difficult to find in this color. The design features fans, strawberry diamonds and Russian cane motifs. The box is bound with silverplated mountings and a lock. The box was almost certainly made by the “OtyM.F. Atelier”. Locked tea boxes were a holdover from earlier days when tea was a precious commodity that had to be kept safe from marauding servants.

Two lovely English trios with painted decoration of single roses. Wishbone or London handles, c 1820, probably New Hall. Numbers painted to base: 925 and 923. A Central Anatolian prayer kilim in beautiful colors. Woven in slit tapestry, warp and weft in wool. Condition: Colors slightly faded, minor wear and few small repairs. Collectors piece, the weave is very fine and delicate, should not be exposed to heavy traffic. Dimensions: 202 x 118 cm without fringes.

This type ware is often mistakenly referred to as Leeds and feather edge. In reality, many factories other than Leeds made pearlware items of this nature, and the type edge here is more properly called a molded edge. This particular plate is marked with an impressed flower on the back. It has an elaborate raised tree and floral decoration.

A Royal Crown Derby 6452 hand painted covered entree dish 1907. This fine quality English bone china covered oval entree dish is dated 1907and it was made by Royal Crown Derby in the 6452 pattern. This 11-1/4" x 7-3/4" serving dish has a cobalt band with matte gold painting including a grape vine motif and white enamel jewelling. A wine glass with a large flared bell bowl with a solid base. The stem is of the multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) type, above a conical foot. 6 7/8 inches tall, bowl diameter 3 inches, foot diameter 2 7/8 inches. Perfect condition and the discrepancy between the bowl and foot diameters is due to the large flare of the bowl.

Showing the whimsy that exemplifies good American folk art, this watercolor double portrait depicts a young man and woman who are clearly siblings. The artist achieved a starkness by having them in black clothing and not accentuating the details of their garb. In fact, the basic touches of color are only the blue in the girl's eyes and in the sky against which they are posed. This banneret weather vane, found in upstate New York, is constructed of sheet and wrought iron, and has an incredible presence and visual impact. Featuring a flag with a central cut-out, scrollwork on either side of the flag, and an ornate three dimensional flower blossom at the end, it exemplifies the whimsy that one looks for in great items of folk art.

Very pretty hand chased sterling basket by Whiting Mfg. Co. Basket measures 3 3/4" wide and 2 3/8" tall ( excluding the handle). This Aesthetic Movement basket has a lovely detailed foliate motif (morning glory?), a fluted rim, and a gilded interior. The twisted handle is attached to a beautiful curved silver application and rests on the side of the basket. There is a monogram on the back. Circa 1870. Excellent condition.

An English lead glass of balustroid form. The bowl is a rounded funnel type, while the plain stem features an annular shoulder knop. Conical folded foot with rough, snapped pontil. 6 1/4 inches in height, with a bowl diameter of 2 inches and a foot diameter of 2 3/4 inches.

An extremely fine baluster wine glass of beautiful proportions and lead composition. The flared bell bowl with an air tear in its base sits atop a stem with a medial flattened ball knop. 19th century rare and good quality ½ liter ceramic beer stein made by Matthias Girmscheid with incised mark on the bottom which look like a castle along with numbers 76, 7, 5 and painted and incised 3, as can be seen on the picture.
