Beautiful bronze statue by Eugene Marioton, French, 1854-1925, titled "Vainquer." The statue itself stands 27 1/2" tall, and it sits on a bronze and rogue marble pedestal that measures 44" tall, making the complete set just under 6" tall. The statue is inscribed Eug. Marioton, and Siot-Decauville is the French foundry. There is some minor pitting on the bottom by the signature, but none at all on the statue body or pedestal This beautiful statue and pedestal is being sold as a set only.

Very rare sterling silver individual berry spoon in Whiting's 1891 "Louis XV" pattern. This is a rare form and the unusual broad shape of the bowl matches that shape of the large berry serving spoons. The bowl is lightly gilt. The back is stamped with Whiting's hallmark, the patent date (indicating an older piece) and the retailer's mark "Jacquemin & Co."

A fine early 19th century silver tastevin in the 17th century Burgundian style, inset with a Louis XIV silver ecu coin. The coin is surrounded by a “couronne” of 27 perles from which extend elongated “godrons”. An absolutely delightful bronze calling card tray, the center designed with a small frog atop a traditional baroque-style wave. This is a beautiful, large bronze cherub standing on a rouge marble base from the late l9th century that was made into a lamp. It measures 45" tall to the top of the light. The cherub itself is 20" tall and it stands on a marble base that is 10 1/2" tall. It is in beautiful condition, the cherub's arms are pinned where they should be and its a beautiful addition to any home. I can find no artist name or stamps on the piece, but it is a great 19th century sculpture.

A very nice small-size silver plate wine taster in the classical style. The bottom features the typical convex bottom surrounded by concave "godrons" adn "cupules." intended to create high and low spots to better appreciate the color of the wine as light is reflected through it. The open shape also allows the bouquet to develop quickly so the wine can be tested easily. The snake handle is generally seen on tastevins from the region of Bourgogne. A large double Irish chain pieced quilt with the chain consisting of red squares enclosing yellow ones on a white ground. The back is turned over the top to form the edge. The red border quilted with swags encloses a white border with a running feather wreath. Inside are red saw teeth and then the chains across the field. Cotton seeds visible through the back side. A very well designed and executed eight point Star of Bethlehem pieced cotton quilt with excellent quilting. The pieces around the edges are white with very small pale blue printed sprigs. The pieces for the star are all solid colors. The backing is printed green cotton in a small pattern. Quilted with feather wreaths in the corners and partial ones between the points of the stars. All of the sewing is done by hand. 72 inches square.

A Magnificent Victorian Silver Plate Cake or Brides Basket or Tazza, with a Swing Handle. Circa 1860-1880. Dimensions; 12.5" in diameter x 4" high x 11" to handle; 5.5" diameter at base; substantial weight 37 oz. Excellent condition (note that photos show reflections, the plating is in excellent condition). There is no maker's mark.

Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Very good quilting with running feathers and cross stitching over much of the surface. There is an embroidered, “E” on the back in one corner. 7...

A striking quilt in a deep red and black. Most importantly the quilt has, stitched on its reverse, "Sarah amd Anne Hoit, Burlington, VT 1838". It also has, stitched at a later time, "A Present to O. Sherman 1881". It is very uncommon to find a quilt, especially such an early one, with such complete information as to the maker, place and date. The piece is approximately 82" square, with the cutouts being 16" square.

A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Front edge turned to the back. All hand stitched. 72 inches square.

This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. A very rare set of six sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Holly & Mistletoe" pattern by Tiffany & Co. This is a more ornate variant of the company's more common "Holly" pattern. The handles are decorated on both sides with holly and mistletoe foliage and mistletoe berries. The elongated bowls have notched shoulders and are parcel-gilt. The spoons are fully hallmarked and have the date letter used 1873-91. The spoons are presented in an old Tiffany flatware bag.
