This collection of old tortoise shell spoons were used by the Chinese herbal practitioners for gathering and mixing ingredients for Chinese medicines. This is the original 11 1/4" by 12 1/2" painted face from a 19th century grandfather or grandmother clock, probably American, circa 1840. It stands as a work of folk art in and of itself. How the piece became separated from its clock will forever remain a mystery. There is no maker's name or town, just the Roman numeral numbers, and a theme of strawberries and leaves, along with gold decoration in the corners...

The clock is 4.76 inches (12.1 cm) long by 3.46 inches (8.8 cm) wide and 1.77 inches (4.5 cm) thick. The barometer is 4.7 inches (12 cm) long by 3.4 inches (8.7 cm) wide and 1.85 inches (4.7 cm) thick. The total weight is 1.8 Lb.

Measuring just 2 inches high, blown-in-mold, 19th century, clear glass bleeding or cupping glass is in excellent condition.

Extensively used in the 19th century and earlier, the cupping glass is a glass vessel from which the air has been exhausted by heat or suction creating a vacuum, and then applied to the skin to draw blood to the surface for therapeutic or curative purposes.

This is a graphic pin cushion from the 1860's in brown, blue and tan star pattern. The back is a egg wash blue linen. It has a nice blue velvet saw tooth edge that goes around the middle of the cushion. It is all hand sewn, a real work of art. It is worn but mellow and nice. It is 8" diameter and is 4" high. A nice surviving example of a Civil War era pin cushion.

This strawberry pin cushion has been enhanced with black pins or maybe it was made that way. It is all hand sewn, has ink seed markings, felt top that is faded and is stuffed firmly with cotton. It is the size of a lime to give you a visual idea. It is 3" long. Circa 1880-90

19th C sterling silver and ebony swagger stick. Presentation engraving on handle was done sometime after 1920. Marked sterling on all silver pieces, it is in excellent condition and measures 17.5" long.
