Circa 1840, English porcelain Staffordshire quill pen holder depicting a confetti coleslaw nest with a dove protecting 2 hatchlings from a snake. The inkwell has one hole for the quill and is in excellent condition. Any imperfections are firing flaws, typical of early Staffordshire pieces. Measures about 2.5" high and 2.75" diameter.

A set of 4 very old and nicely patinated European Powderhorns, made of flat-pressed cowhorns, leather and wood, all can be dated around 1700-1762.

One horn is particularly interesting, with the upperpart carved as an animals mouth, with an engraving of a deer and inscribed and dated 1706!
Another horn is dated and initialized to 1762, but is probably an earlier horn with a 1762 dating.

Measuring 2.75 inches in diameter by 3 inches high, this darling, circa 1890's, English, porcelain, double quill holder features a startled mother dove attempting to fend off a serpent about to devour the three eggs in her nest!

Likely Staffordshire, the quill holder features lovely polychrome coloration. Condition is wonderful with no chips, breaks, repairs, or repaints. Age crackling to glaze is evident along with a tiny stain on the dove's breast.

This early ice cream scoop has been professionally cleaned and polished. The rare conical shaped scoop is nickel plated. The wooden grip is attached to a polished brass handle and release mechanism. The mechanism works very well. This # 33 scoop was made by the Gilchrists' Co., in New Jersey. It dates circa 1914. The scoop diameter is 3 inches and the length is 10 1/2 inche. Rare Native American carved steatite two-bear effigy pipe. Great Lakes region. Circa 1850. A museum quality pipe with traces of red and black paint still evident. Excellent condition. Size: 10 7/8 inches length x 3 3/4 inches ht.

Nothing represents the decadence of the early 1900s better than this wonderfully crafted 14 karat yellow gold bonbon spoon. The handle has an elegantly elongated wreath design and the bowl of the spoon has been decoratively pierced by masterful craftsmen of the period. The length of the spoon is 4 5/8” and the width at the widest part is 1 7/8”.

This is a consignment piece and as a result is a little out of my area of expertise. I am told that it is a boar spear from the middle ages, circa 15th century. It was found in Germany. It is very large, approximately 45 cm in length and is decorated on both sides of the blade. The socket has two tangs that are in line with the blade edges.
