Rare Jennings Brothers inkwell set with an elaborate hunt scene on the cover that opens to show a beautiful hound's head on the inkwell cap. Also inside are 2 racks for holding reservoir fountain pens and a lovely perpetual calendar made of ivorine. The interior is lined with a reddish brown bakelite. Pair of French heavy weight gilt bronze candlesticks with inkwell having banded agate cabochons. The agate stones were carefully cut with white stripe in the center of each stone to give the appearance of an "eye". Dating circa 1840, this desk set is in excellent condition and features a grape pattern. Candlesticks can be used separately when the occasion arises. In excellent condition, candlesticks are 8" high x 3 5/8" diameter. Inkwell measures 4.5" diameter 4.5" high.
This diminutive black basalt wax seal was made by Wedgwood in the late 18th C. as a protest against slavery and features Hercules. The condition is nearly immaculate with no defects to report. The hole at the top was to attach to a lanyard or neck chain or necklace. This item is quite rare and collectible.
