English porcelain Staffordshire quill holder featuring a confetti coleslaw nest with 3 spotted eggs, a bird, and a green snake. The inkwell has one hole for a quill and is in excellent condition. Any imperfections are firing flaws, typical of early Staffordshire pieces. Measures about is 2.5" high and 2.75" diameter. Circa 1840.

This is not my area of specialty so I will attempt a best description. The smoking pipe is of Meerschaum, (for the German "sea foam"), actually the mineral sepiolite. Since the 1720's, the mineral, found mostly in Turkey, has been used in the fashioning of ornately carved smoking pipes. The mineral has been described as soft enough to carve yet hard enough to polish. The fad for such smoking implements reached a peak in Victorian times...
A fine antique apothecary mortar in beautiful early brass/bronze alloy, Northern Europe, dated in the bottom to 1734!.

A very large and usual early type brass mortar with a corrosponding pestle, very decorative and a nice antique for both display and kitchen use. Note the pecular wide upper part, which we haven't seen before and must have been made in a few early years only during the 18th. century.

Size: Mortar is 134 mm. high and 148 mm. wide, pestle is ca. 25,7 cm...

This early ice cream scoop has been professionally cleaned and polished. The rare conical shaped scoop is nickel plated. The wooden grip is attached to a polished brass handle and release mechanism. The mechanism works very well. This # 33 scoop was made by the Gilchrists' Co., in New Jersey. It dates circa 1914. The scoop diameter is 3 inches and the length is 10 1/2 inche. Very fine condition with one extremely tiny ding on the scoop.

The ultimate in men’s accessories is this 14Kt white gold pen knife from the early twentieth century. It was originally used on watch chains as a functional fob. The knife has two folding blades one of which is a knife blade and the other is a nail file/ pick. On the front there is a diamond shaped 14Kt yellow gold plaque, hand-engraved with the initials H.D. The length of the knife is 2 3/8” including the fold down bail, and the width is 7/16”.
The handle is bronze patinated metal and mounted on a sturdy "bark on" hickory shaft with a long ferrule. The cane dates to the very early 19th century. It is in great condition for its age! Note: This cane never had glass eyes. Circa 1800. Condition (Excellent). Size 38" L.

Hard-to-find English barrel shaped wooden string holder with a pedestal base. Made of lignum vitae wood, the dispensing end has a twist off opening. Circa 1860-1880 it is still a useful object and a great find for the collector. Overall condition is good with only a small chip on the base. Has a beautiful warm patina and measures 5" long at base, 5.5" wide at back, 6.5" high.
