This delightfully fancy, 19th Century, cast iron, physician's office sign marked "DR. JOHN LAGAN", once hung on a small building in turn-of-the-century San Francisco, California! It actually survived the famous earthquake of 1906!!

Measuring 3.25 inches high by 3.75 inches in diameter, this lovely Victorian Barber Shop, mustache or shaving cup or mug remains in excellent condition but for the subtle wear to the gilt-edged rim.

The cup is embossed with swirls, dots and bows as well as decorated further with gold-drawn designs and 2 large, hand-painted pink roses with 1 smaller cream-colored rose. The cup base is scalloped and the fancy handle is gold-gilded.

Antique 18th-19th century, Islamic Indo Persian brass divination bowl, also called Magic Bowl or Medicinal bowl, made from turned and hand finished cast brass in a typical rounded form, on a low circular foot, averted rim, and pierced with a small hole allowing a suspension cord to be fitted.

The center of the bowl has a tapering central boss among Arabic calligraphy...

A lovely silver mounted powder flask in fine silver, Persian, c. 18th.-19th. century.

The pear-shaped flask very elegant and set with silver rosettes and large silver mounts, complete incl. chain to the stopper.

An exceedingly RARE and all-original, commanding group photograph of 1880's NURSES with a bit of the mysterious - might be depicting recent graduates of a nursing program with male and female head instructors or may be a photograph of hospital staff nurses with head nurse and administrator/physician. A bit of intrigue for certain, and most definitely a highly rare and unusual period nursing photo of substantial size! Found in a New York state estate...

Offered is a very difficult-to-find, large grouping of twenty one, 19th century, porcelain, matching apothecary cabinet drawer pulls, priced at $45 for each pull.

Each pull measures approximately 1.4"W x 1.3"H x 1" front to back (not including bolt). (Please note- "INULA HELEN" is sold.)

The condition of the pulls is very good with only a few minor manufacturing imperfections that add to the desired patina of an antique of this age and period...

18th / 19th century automatic phlegm, medical bloodletting tool, in its original case. It is said that George Washington had one like this in his First Aid Kit. Bloodletter measures overall length including blade 2", 1/2" wide and 1/8" height. The case measure approximately 2 7/8" long, 1 1/2" wide, and height 5/8".

Back in the days when pills were made by hand, a pill rounder such as this (sometimes called a pill finisher), was used to create perfect pill spheres via use of a circular or figure-8 motion. The pill then would be dusted with powder, ready for dispensing by the apothecary.

Made of light-colored fruitwood (treen), this handsome tool of the trade has two different recessed depths used to finish or create, two different diameter pills.

Dates to C1880 and the condition is very good...

This box is silver plate from the United States or possibly England of the Victorian era. The marking on this sewing box is partially obliterated, but we could make out the mark C&W on the bottom. We were unable to identify the marking. It measures 4 inches high, 3 inches deep and 1 7/8 inches wide. The box has 3 drawers. One is marked pins, one for needles and one for buttons. There is a little kitten figure on the top of the box. The silver plate is etched with a decorative pattern on top...

Offered is a delightful trio of 19th century, Horn, Apothecary Pharmacy Powder or Tablet Scoops. These tools of the trade were made in three different sizes ranging from nearly 5 inches long to 5.75 inches long.

These interesting pharmacy implements have a warm honey translucent tone and are complemented by a natural brownish color which is especially noted in the largest scoop. They were most likely made from cow horn as was typical of the period...
