Two extremely rare and very attractive figurines from the Manteno culture: An oval shaped vessel with a human face and crossed legs of an animal in front. The face and the mouth of the vessel are framed by dashed lines and a stylized, sitting man with oversized head, 1000-1500 AD.

Wonderful archaic and very artful details. This set is extremely rare; we haven't similar style figures from Manteno in the trade for more than 20 years of dealing!

Pre-Columbian globular pottery jar, Chancay Peru, 1000-1400 AD.

A beautiful and scarce larger pottery jar from the Chancay culture, globular shape with applied handles in both sides and tiny animals on both sides as well. The pottery greyish white with black line decoration.

Rare, ancient Pre-Columbian stone amulets. Pre-Columbian art encompasses the artifacts created by the indigenous peoples from the second millennium BC to the time of the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1492, when the existing cultures were conquered by the Europeans.

A highly interesting and very accomplished Blackware vessel with the portrait head of a living man, Precolumbian Peru, Late Moche or early Chimú, 7th.-9th. century AD.

Superbly detailed and rather substantial vessel, made as a grinning man with his tungue between his teeth and wearing larger earrings and headdress, the spout of the vessel prodruding from the top of his head. Rather scarce piece!

This early South Coast textile incorporates a two-headed serpent motif, together with a human (or divine) being with arms raised high (sometimes referred to as "the oculate being," because of the prominent, bulging eyes.). Classic south coast imagery, most probably Nazca (Nasca). I included a photograph of a much later related image, dating to perhaps as much as one thousand years later, to show the continuity of the imagery...

Ancient Moche solid cast silver Tumi Sceptre c 300 AD with Warriors or high priest Lords. Fine sculpture and casting with inlaid stone eyes headdress ear flairs and shields. Xrf testing done for content appraised and authenticated by Lowell Collins with paperwork. The sceptre came from a 1960s Texas collection. Weight is 292g silver and is 9.5" long and 2 ' wide at the top.

This is an extraordinarily rare and unique carved bone Mayan plaque. This masterpiece is the finest I have ever seen and very few exist. It is 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" X 1/8". It is from the Aapo Bolon Estate which was collected by the family while living in Guatemala from 1920-1980. I inspected the entire collection of over 1000 pieces and found nothing incorrect in any item. This was the finest piece in the offering. A deck of antique Fred Harvey "Souvenir Playing Cards - The Great Southwest" circa 1911-1912. Full deck (52 cards plus a Joker and a Map). Each card displays a different photograph, including destinations, places, and native people of the Southwest. The back of each card shows a scene of Indians on horseback. Golden-edged cards. Almost mint Condition.

A superb quality ancient Pre-Columbian, Chorrera, ca. 9th–5th century B.C. Effigy vessel. A flat -bottomed compound vessel with a raised neck, slightly flared rim and three Anthropomorphic / Zoomorphic heads protruding from the shoulders, equidistantly positioned to provide a sense of balance to the overall composition of the vessel.

Details of the visages are nicely incised and delineated in repousse. Boasts a lovely redware finish and nice burnishing marks...

Antique Pre-Columbian Chimú Blackware Pottery Vessel ca. 1100 - 1532 AD. The middle part of the vessel is divided into four quadrants and decorated in relief featuring Naylamp/Naylap, a mythical god, standing with raised arms, as well as a scorpion with a human head, and a figure of an animal. Of these three figures, they wear large crescentic headdresses, the forth panel depicts two human figures holding large crescentic headdress...

Rare Pre-Columbian Volcanic stone figure of a seated lady, cupping her breasts, Atlantic Watershed Region, Chiriqui-Diquis, ca. 300-800 AD.

Seated naked woman, cupping each breast in her hands, with serene facial features, large ears to the side, the striated coiffure extending down the neck. Porous basalt, intact. The breast holding posture of this female figure is seen as a symbolic fertility gesture.

This is an incredible 1 7/8" Columbia Plateau found in Oregon. It is made from beautiful translucent moss agate. It is a true G-10. One of the very best. It is from one of the all time great Northwest collections, Gordon Erspamer. I purchased it from a Jim Bennett auction who personally examined it and told me it was a one in a 10,000 point. Mr. Bennett has written three books on how to recognize reproductions and altered artifacts. They are currently selling on Amazon for $388 each.

A rare Peruvian Stirrup Vessel, Chimú culture, ca. 1000-1300 AD.

The globular vessel with stirrup handle, the body decorated with two elongated, snake-like fish, fine little bird is seated at the handle.

These are two of the finest bone artifacts I have ever seen and as you can see from viewing my site, I specialize in bone items. The largest is 7 1/2". I love bone because it patinates so beautifully. These have the most gorgeous yellow brown patination you will ever see. They are very finely made with needle tip points. They are both perforated which is much rarer. They were uncovered in the melting Alaskan permafrost and could be thousands of years old. They are both translucent when backlit. ...

A rear and ancient Pre Colombian quartz and green jade necklace. The long quartz beads average length is from 75 to 85 cementers in length. This pointed bone splitter tool from the Bill Peterson Collection and ex-Jim Bennett is 5" L, including a 2" glued piece. It was found in Kentucky and shows incredible patina. It has a drilled hole for suspension. It is just a really neat bone tool in unusual form. It has been preserved with an Elmer's glue mix which many old collections used. I will hate to see this one go.
