Up for sale is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty embroidered dragon silk robe, Jifu, with nine 5-clawed dragons executed in couched gold wrapped threads; clouds, buddhist & Taoist auspicious symbols, bats, sea waves, and standing water ( Lishui) are executed in brick stitch; Overall is in excellent condition, no frays across shoulders' folding lines. Very rare, Gulong Miao children’s jacket from Guizhou. This is a side opening style, made from all hand woven cloth (except for the inner sleeve lining) with hand embroidered anthropomorphic figures, on a calendared greenish cotton ground. According to the writing on the back, this small embroidered pencil holder in was made in 1897 by a Mrs Lee for M.J. Thomas who was a member of the Chinese Chicago Mission group. The embroidery stitches are tiny and some of the threads are frayed but it is a warm memento of friendship and an artifact from another era in relations between China and the US.
This antique beaded headband is from Guang Dong province in China, and is typical of headgear worn by Chinese woman around the turn of the 19th-20th century. It would have been worn the narrow portion across the forehead, with the rounded flap portions covering the ears and fastened in the back of the head.

This panel displays a scene of two people in a landscape setting, one holding a flute and the other holding a fan. It was later bordered with a black silk band which has slightly separated from the panel in two areas at the top and bottom, as seen in the photographs. There are also some old stains that have little effect on the image.

This pair of antique Miao boots were made by a young woman from Song Tao to be worn for festivals. The thick sole has iron hob nails to make walking easier on the hills and terraces. The vamp is made from cotton fabric and is heavily embroidered with cottton thread using satin and chain stitch techniques. The upper part of the boot is also made of cotton fabric.
