The color on lower part of the boots, especially on the outside, has faded to a soft golden color. Up for sale is an antique Chinese kesi /K'ossu tapestry, 19th or early 20th century, woven with polychrome silk & gold-wrapped threads, the middle square with gold thread ground depcits a battle scene - Worriors on horseback and armed; framed with border embellished with 16 Chinese mythical creatures.
The panel is overall in very good condition, it was removed from the frame, one side the color is bright and clean but the opposite side is faded with glues and tears along edges of the border...

This small Chinese hand made purse would have been made by a woman for her personal use or possibly as a gift to a female friend. It was made using cotton background fabric and hand embroidered with silk thread on each side. The butterfly and floral motifs were made with silk thread using a combination of satin stitches, chain stitches and couching embroidery techniques.
It is a charming example of a Chinese woman's needlework and is in excellent condition...
