The forward section decorated with ruyi head shaped velvet. Blue cotton lining. Condition: patina, few loose and missing threads, two not embroidered areas with splits. Heirloom wedding blanket cover from the tiny Maonan ethnic minority of Guangxi, China. First half of the 20th century-made with natural undyed local cotton with the pattern with made from floss silk supplementary brocade weft symbols of phoenix, flowers and butterflies, and is in perfect condition with no holes or tears. Some of the more brightly colored purple aniline dyed silk threads have been rewoven into the patterns probably within the last 40 years but are certainly not new...

Up for sale is a very large tapestry made out of a Qing dynasty court official's blue dragon robe, 19th century, executed in Chinese forbidden & satin stitch embroidery, 2 front-facing & 4 profile dragons surrounded by colored clouds, bats, and other Buddhist & Taoist auspicious symbols above the sea waves, rocks, and standing water / Lishui. Panel is backed with light blue silk. Measurement : 64" x 53". Very fine embroidery in excellent condition, no wear or tear.

Antique Chinese rug from the Bautou area, woven with a pair of cranes and a pair of deer. The cranes fly in a sky of deep indigo beneath a large pine tree. In the foreground is a pair of deer, one with antlers and white spots and one without. One of the deer is nibbling tufts of lingzhi. 19th century. Size: 67" long x37 1/2" wide.

Fabulous antique Chinese table apron textile with 4 gold dragons, (originally had nine), above water on a blue silk background with auspicious Buddhist symbols and a two inch floral border of peonies, irises, and butterflies in blues and white, the border possible was added at a later date. Excellent condition dating from the 19th century. Measures 62" wide by 36" long.

A large 127 x 62.5 cm silk panel created from fabric originally intended for a chaofu court robe. The five-clawed dragons were created entirely from silk threads covered with gold foil, which couldn't be sewn through the fabric, so they were instead tacked down via a technique called 'couching'...

Medallion in red silk embroidered with stylized flowers in colored silk and scrolls embroidered with gold metallic ribbons. The reverse lined with old rose colored silk. Precise and careful details, of the best quality. No catering. Complete medallion. Full gold ribbons, some slightly worn as seen in photos. Diameter: 295 to 300mm. 19th century Chinese work. It is rare to find antique silk from this period in good condition...

Up for sale is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty round rank badge, 5-claw dragon couched with gold wrapped threads, and other fine embroideries including flaming pearl, clouds, sea waves and buddhist auspicious objects, framed and glazed. The badge is taken from the surcoat of a mmperial family member who was allowed to wear a round badge during the Qing dynasty. The badge is overall in very good condition, but never inspected outside the frame...

This traditional antique Chinese childs top was made using a fine, deep royal blue damask silk with black silk trim. From a wealthy family, this top was padded for winter use, has all the original frog and monkey fist knot closures, and a hand embroidered rondel with lots of couching and seed stitches (aka forbidden stitch)
