The head is carved in a grey stone that I think is limestone, it is harder than marble but it can be scratched with a steel tool. The naive sculpture seems to be made by a craftsman who was not a sculptor or a sculptor of a primitive people. It unquestionably represents a Buddha with his third eye in the middle of his forehead. There is some red pigment left in one nostril and in the corner of the mouth.The appearance of the stone seems very old...

Antique Nepalese bronze melong, "Mirror of Emptiness". Melong are placed on altars to reflect right thoughts. This melong has a polished center surrounded by flames. It stands on a lotus base. It is the same on either side. A soft rattling sound from within the convex portion of the mirror reveals that it has been consecrated, meaning a prayer has been placed inside.

Antique Sri Lankan ceramic figure of seated Hanuman, the Hindu god in monkey form, hero of the Ramayana and devoted friend to Rama. Seated with one knee raised and hands together in prayer, Hanuman's face is full of compassion. His tall crown denotes his status. Traces of green and white pigments remain.

A Korean Folk Art painting of two cranes under a pine tree. The crane is the emblem of long life which is a common theme in Minhwa. The cranes have been painted on mulberry paper using natural pigments mixed in a glue base. A cast brass gong mounted in a Japanese style wooden frame. The two parts were joined together in Singapore where the stand was constructed out of Vietnamese wuali wood. The stand measures about 27 1/2" wide x 23 1/2" tall x 11" deep and dates to the 1980s. The bell measures about 13" in diameter x 5" deep and dates to the 19th Century or earlier. The bell has a marking of "4-P" painted inside, and the gong comes with a matching quality striker...

A large kitchen storage jar that was made in North Korea. The Jar is an example of Korean folk art, and it has hand painted blue and green designs on a white base.
