Inrô with four lacquer compartments representing eagles: eight on one side, seven on the other, one on the upper side called ten; sometimes posed on a rocky promontory in takamaki-e and kirigane lacquer, sometimes in flight near the sea. Bamboo branches. Bottom in fundame and hiramaki-e lacquer. Interior in nashi-ji lacquer. The eagle motif is relatively rare in Japanese iconography. Fine old Burma lacquerware box. This piece is quite rare in that it is a complete set with three compartments on top and one shallow “hidden” compartment in the base. There is an old repair on the cracquelure on the lid as well as some traditional restoration on the undecorated portions. This is an early 20th century piece (possibly 19th century) from the Gadu-Ganan region, Shan State. D: 16.cm/6.2in and W: 16cm/6.2in.

Fine and unusual Chinese coconut teapot; carved decoration showing shou characters, auspicious objects and clouds; fully zinc lined and in very good condition; circa 19th century

Incense burner in copper alloy (cast bronze and embossed and cut brass). Oriental work from the 19th century or before. Probably Ottoman but maybe Syrian? The hinge was consolidated by a riveted piece of metal and one of the three feet was replaced as one of the photos shows? The three legs are fixed to the base by a system of finely executed 'butterfly' nuts. The assembly is slightly twisted as can be seen in the photos. Height: 25cm Diameter: 20cm

Late 18th to early 19c century Indian bronze votive sculpture depicting Lord Vishnu with characteristic sun disc and conch shell held in his upper hands. Vishnu is the preserver of the universe and the embodiment of truth, goodness and mercy. Cast in Karnataka state, very crisp casting and great detailing, beautiful dark brown patina. Height 2 3/8 inches.

A Yuan Longquan Celadon Jar with Dragon Decoration. Diameter approximately 12 cm and height approximately 9.8 cm. Both lugs have been repaired. In good condition.

A rare Polychrome Woodcut "Artisansin Straw" by Mitsuoki Tosa (1617 to 1601), Japan, framed. From a collection of Artisans. Good condition, size: 19.5" x 13.75". Tosa Mitsuoki was one of three outstanding Tosa painters to the imperial court, also known as "Three Brushes".

Extremely rare. Excellently potted porcelain body with a lipped everted rim, covered with an excellent Celadon-coloured glaze. The base unglazed. Yue ware ( Yueyao ) Tang Dynasty - Five Dynasties ( 10th. century ). Diameter: 14,4 cm. H : 8,3 cm. Condition: One crack and one filled "split-off" to the inside of the rim ( please see the enlargement ). Excellent glaze condition. The body despite the short crack, still with a very nice "ping-tone" when tapped.

Lovely bronze Buddha in the naïve style that is so typical for Laos. It's heavily cast. The Buddha in Bhumisparsa Mudra, seated on a lotus throne. H. 26 cm. Very nice age wear and good patina. There is a minor hole in the front, this is a casting flaw.

Large Komai Mixed Metal Box with Temple & Phoenix Marked, Meiji Period (1868-1912)

The box is 2.25 inches (6 cm) tall, and 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in length by 4 inches (10 cm) wide.

It is in good condition with no repairs, chips, or cracks, dents, except rubbing and loss of gold, metal oxidation at the inside of the box, and unsecured hinges (as seen in the photos).

Rounded wan-shaped chawan with strong throwing (finger) marks, called rokuro-me. The light, very fine clay with enclosures is expertly thrown. The body is fully glazed - with the exception of the foot and its surrounding area.

The cream coloured glaze shows pink colour in some paces as we know it from Korean Gohon tea bowls. It shows discolouration from green tea and a beautiful crazing - especially on inside, a sign of many years of careful use...
