Antique Japanese merchant's chest (choba tansu), made of sugi (cryptomeria) wood with dark red lacquer finish, 4 exterior drawers and safe box with 2 small interior drawers, beautiful heavy iron hardware including elaborate bracing on front frame, wooden bracing on sides and back, from the Mikuni area, Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th century).

Description:
A silver washer was nicely in floral shape and was decorated on the side with motifs of bamboo troves.
The beautiful pattern was well rendered by excellant chiselling and engraving workmanship.
Nice and darken patina was yielded when some old restorations were found in portions.

Nice old red and black lacquered Cambodian Siri (betel) box container with foliate scroll pattern incised on the surface. Minor lacquer losses and restoration consistent with an antique piece. The art of Cambodian lacquer production has had a minor renaissance in recent years but this mainly done for the decorative art export market, items made for local village use this has pretty much died out after Khmer Rouge Era and advent of cheap Chinese plastic boxes...

Very nice lobed porcelain Qingbai plate with carved peony decoration. China, Song Dynasty (960-1279). Diameter 16 cm. Condition: glaze is locally crackled due to age, there is age wear to the glaze. No damage or repairs.
A very rare sancai original, three color, glazed Tang duck cup probably used for drinking rice wine. Three colors with some blue cobalt. Check the closeup photos of the glaze with the natural cracking of the glaze due to long burial. It shows the authenticity of the piece.

Two rare well carved Pyu stone elephants. These are a type of micro carvings that the Pyu period is noted for. There are holes drilled in both of the elephants for stringing. Size: See last photo.

Tibetan Himalayan region Tsampa Tea Bowl, hard Silver wrapped Burlwood Tea Bowl, Ca. 1900, 2 1/2" high, 4" diameter on top rim, Silver impressed and raised Buddhist design on high foot wrapped around the bottom. Red Wax Seal mark in the center of the bottom. Hand hammered mark inside silver bowl, not a damage.
Rather art deco huge buddhist temple gable. C.1910. Cyprus wood. 4ft. tall by 2ft. wide.

Pair of early 19th century Japanese sword menuki depicting what appears to be different proverbs. The first one llustrates a sentence “A gourd against a catfish” meaning useless effort similar to trying to catch a slippery fish with a gourd. The other one depicts a puzzled man scratching his head by a samurai spear - I am not sure what this particular story is. Elegant design, bronze and shakudo with silvering and gilding, overall in great condition. Length 1 9/16 inches.
This early 20th century Famille Rose snuff bottle features hand painted chrysanthemum, cherry, rose, peony and other unknown blossoms on a white background. It is 2 3/8” high, 2 1/8” wide and 1 1/8” thick. The cap and spoon are replacements. It is in very good condition.
A good Song Yuan longquan celadon large bowl, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, bowl decorated with 35 carved raising lotus petal motif at the exterior, covered with good green glaze.
Bowl is in good condition with small glaze fritt at the rim covered, no chip, no crack, minor crackled at glaze surface, porcelain with high ping sound with finger tip.

Small antique tribal Persian chanteh (bag). Hand woven of wool in lovely deep indigo blue and brown. A central rectangle of deep blue has six vertical bands of white with
interlocking motifs perhaps of rams horns, a powerful masculine symbol. Framing this is a wide dark brown band which is subtly woven with repeating protective eye motifs. The back of the bag is woven a solid deep brown color. Circa 1900.
