A large late Ming dynasty blue and white "Kraak" porcelain dish. The central star-shaped panel is decorated with flowering plants and a grasshopper or cricket on rockwork. The moulded sides are painted with alternating vertical panels of stylized peaches and buddhistic symbols. This item was made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619)...

Extremely rare and hard to find Edo Period c.1860 byobu screen in good condition and featuring tigers frolicing in bamboo. One of a pair most likely as the other six panel screen had the hanko. This screen has been repaired a long time ago and we challenge you to find the repairs. All and all, a museum piece that fits handsomely over a couch.

A fine and rare Blanc de Chine vase in archaistic Gu form made in the Dehua kilns, Fujian province, South China. The finely crackled creamy white glaze is incised vertically with stylized plantain leaves and the waist with three buddhist symbols. The base carries the four character seal mark of the Chenghua emperor but this item was made later, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration...

A wedding plate finely painted with "famille rose" enamels against a pale green 'celadon' ground. The border is richly decorated with lotus, peony flowers, birds, insects, good luck symbols and auspicious objects. This item was made in China for export during the reign of either the Jiaqing or Daoguang emperors - probably circa 1800-1830.)Condition - there is a chip and associated 0.5 cm hairline to the rim and there is minor wear to the enamels...

Chinese Soapstone figure of Pu Tai, well carved on a wooden stand. The stone of warm pale brown colour, fading towards the base, darker on the back. With a deep glossy patina. 19thC. Ht.2 3/4" (7.0cm), L.3 3/8" (8.6cm), excluding stand. Condition: there is a flake 1 3/4" at the rear of the base, which from the wear could be contemporary with the carving. Otherwise excellent.

Fine Japanese Arita Imari polychrome fluted bowl. Decorated in underglaze blue and maroon, yellow, red, and gold enamels with floral roundels between flowering shrubs, including plum and prunus, extending over the rim into the interior. A large Ming dynasty style square form vase (Fang Hu), with abstracted 'dragon' handles. The vase is decorated in under glaze cobalt blue with "heaped and piled" effect. Alternating bands of stylized floral scrolls are interspersed with bands of lappets, plantain leaves and chilong dragons with shou (long life) signs and at the rim with a key fret border. This item was made in the mid 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795)...

This antique Chinese box would have been used during the Qing dynasty, possibly by a scholar or shop keeper. The bottom of this box has covered compartments for seals, chops,calligraphy brush, ink sticks and a built in inkstone. There is an abacus built into the lid.

The original hinge pin was lost and has been replaced. The box was made with large dovetail joints and from a hard wood of unknown origins. The outside is dirty and I have not cleaned it...
