She is sitting, clothed in a kimono covered with cherry blossoms and gold accents, and is holding a fan. Okame represents a wish for good fortune, happiness, and long life. She is also the goddess of mirth, and can make one happy just to look at her. This lady measures about 6 3/4" high x 5" wide, and she dates to the Meiji period, 1868-1912...

Two baskets are being offered here and both are from the Northeast, most probably from the Penobscot of Maine. They are lidded, made of splint ash, and use natural dyes of green and orange.

Basket 1, although it has a square base, is 14 3/4" in diameter and 11 1/2" in height. They are about 3 smallish splint breaks as shown in the photos, but the basket is structurally sturdy. Basket 2 has a medial sweetgrass braid and a dyed interior. The 4 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/2" in height.

This is the Katazome cotton festival costume used in Edo during the Edo period. It is dyed with natural indigo. Cotton is hand-spun and thick. It has a few repair marks, but it doesn't stand out. Chinese White Jade Carving Pendant & Ring Silver Necklace,19th Century

It is 18.5 inches (47 cm) in circumference. The pendant is 2 inches (5.1 cm) long by 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide and 5.5 mm thick. The ring is 16 mm- 18.2 mm diameter by 3.6 mm - 6.2 mm wide. The total weight is 104.5 gram.

It has flea bite chips and inclusions at the jade, and tarnished at the metal ring and clip (as seen in the photos).

Rare funerary cone with three registers of sunk hieroglyphs reading: (1) The Bearer of the brazier (2) of the temple of Amun, (3) Nekhy.
This cone and a second one held in a Japanese collection are the only known examples of the type, which is enumerated as 650/B.23 by Zenihiro.
Both the name and the title on the cone are uncommon. The personal name Nekhy is not listed with Ranke. Also the title is rarely reported and not yet known on funerary cones.

porcelain kuan-yin enameled in iron red and copper green. Green enamel has an unusual iridescent metallic appearance that seems to be peculiar to an era or a production site. The statuette is made in a mold in 2 parts, the joint is visible below. The unglazed parts, at least the base, were covered with lacquer and gold which have disappeared leaving only traces (look photo). I attach the picture of a Guan-Yin with similar green. Usual wear. Antique Chinese pair of large joss stick incense holders. Made of porcelain in bell form. Decorated with painted designs of dragons, lingzhi and scrolling vines in red-orange overglaze standing out against a dramatic black ground. Each joss holder has four large dragon medallions, two on the top portion and two on the bottom. Around them is painted a variety of scrolling foliage. The interior rim of the upper portion is painted with a pattern of lingzhi mushrooms.

Nice old storage basket from the Lahu ethic group, Northern Thailand. This has a tough double layered weave with the outer wall made from rattan and the inner wall of bamboo strips. Lahu baskets are held in high regard by the other tribes in the area and were sold or traded to them. This is a genuine old tribal piece and not a tourist piece made for the home décor market.
