1930's Chinese Famille Rose Sweetmeat Dishes Butterfly Shaped Wood Carved Tray Marked
The wood tray is 16.1 inches (41 cm) long by 18.1 inches (46 cm) wide and 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) tall. The dishes are 1.2 inches (3.1 cm) tall by 5.3 (13.5 cm) to 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) long and 3.1 inches (8 cm) to 4.7 inches (12 cm) wide. The total weight is 5.8 lb.

19th century netsuke carved as a Chinese sage holding an oni mask in his hands, and a little boy seated by his feet. Late 19th century netsuke of four blind men fighting, characteristic bumps on their heads. Excellent carving with a lot of detailing, superb faces, subtly incised textile patterns, very pleasant patina. Height 1.46 inches.
Victorian safari flask. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1896. Ovoid glass body. Top encased in leather with cutout tubular windows. Bottom has detachable sterling silver cup. Cover hinged and cork-lined. Holds 4 pints of chest-hair growing spirits—enough for everyone around the campfire. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, no. S829, and volume. Good condition with some leather wear from rough handling.

Reeded scroll bracket handle wrapped with applied band decorated with stylized flower head. Gilt-washed interior. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (JE Caldwell) stamps and no. 1306. Very good condition with deep patina.

Very fine red lacquered saber (dao) scabbard fitting from the Nùng people Vietnam. They are well known for their sword making so it makes sense they would put the same effort into their accoutrements. This is an old semi antique piece circa 1950 excellent condition and intricate carving. L: 14cm/5.5in W: 5.9cm/2.3in and Thickness 2.4cm/1in.
This is han-jyuban in Edo period(1800-1867). Silk tsumugi itajime of the safflower dye is an arabesque motif in the lion. The shoulder surrounding is scenery of the travel (Tokaido) in Edo period. The katazome is very exact and beautiful. The material of katazome is wool. There are a little color variation and a small hole. The state is very good.
