The back is decorated with a children’s toy figure on a small spatula and leaves in flight among drifts of fog. Wonderful ferocious face, eyes are inlaid with black horn, hollowed inside, warm patina, pleasant wear...

19th century Asakusa school staghorn netsuke of two old broken roof tiles. Strong piece in Japanese taste typical of Asakusa school, beautiful dark staining, warm patina, darker porous areas as is usual with staghorn. Length 1.8 inches.

An antique Japanese Kansai Mizuya Tansu in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. Upper section features two sets of sliding doors with a set of 5 side by side drawers. Bottom section has 2 large sliding doors that open to a spacious storage area behind. Constructed using Japanese mortise and tenon joinery. Drawer handles are Hikute style made of hand forged iron.

Age: Meiji Era (1890-1900).

19th Century Chinese Blue and White Porcelain underglaze Blue Urn with Cover, 17 1/2", 10" wide-widest part, 5 1/2" diameter-top rim, sharp brilliant nice underglaze Blue decoration of double Happiness character among scrolling vine and Peony floral decoration, marked on the bottom but this urn or jar was made during early 1800's to mid 1800's, representing good quality of Blue and White Porcelain Product. This very well carved and colored Japanese polychrome ivory carving of a Chinese style lady is a mid or late 19th century product. It depicts a lady who wears a simple but elegant elaborate silk robe. She holds a peony blossom in her left hand and a fan in her right hand. It is 8 ½” high and 2” wide from the round base. It has very nice patina. Aside from two slight crack lines on her face and upper left arm, it is in very good condition...

This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Theodore Haviland Limoges around 1895. It has a diameter of 8 1/2 inches. The plate has 5 clam shells and a center compartment for salt. The plate is decorated with a factory transfer design with tiny sea creatures and seaweed. These designs are colored by hand. There is brushed on gilded accents around the shells and on the border. Condition: Excellent

Victorian sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Globular bowl and drum-form neck with small lip spout; c-scroll handle with stylized flower-head mounts. Bowl has embossed border of imbricated leaves or chevrons, a bold motif popularly known as Wave Edge. Neck applied with same. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pre-1875 pattern no. 3077, and director’s letter M (1873-91). Very good condition.

19th century netsuke of baying spotted deer standing on a base carved with a seal on the bottom. Image of the characters on Enlargement 1 is flipped left to right, so it shows the way an imprint will look. Elegant carving with pure clean lines, wonderful depiction of volume of the deer body, beautiful depiction of its spotted coat, eyes inlaid with light horn, painted pupils. Cord openings are formed by natural openings between deer’s legs...

An antique Japanese Imari porcelain figure of Okame, who is the female actress that is shown on traditional Japanese theater masks. She is sitting, clothed in a kimono covered with cherry blossoms and gold accents, and is holding a fan. Okame represents a wish for good fortune, happiness, and long life. She is also the goddess of mirth, and can make one happy just to look at her. This lady measures about 6 3/4" high x 5" wide, and she dates to the Meiji period, 1868-1912...

19C Meiji period Japanese Woven Bronze Plaque Tray Gold and Silver Inlay The mixed-metal plaque or tray is designed on the interior with a bronze panel carved and applied with five people, variously finished in gilt and silver. The sides and rim are hand woven metals simulating woven bamboo. Size: 25.8 cm long, 23 cm wide, 4.7 cm deep. Condition: Good. A scratch on the back.
