Iron kozuka inlaid with a bronze or brass paddle wheel and waves.Details in silver. Simple but powerful good work. It reminds me of the Onin style tsuba. This kozuka seems to me very old 18 ° or before. Its simple appearance while being of good quality, its solidity makes me think that it was not made during the peaceful and sumptuous Edo period but before during the agitated war period of Muromachi. An interesting and impressive large Thai bronze sculpture with silver and glass decoration, early-mid 18th. century.

Surely made for a wealthy temple or person. The Buddha is made in the finest later Ayutthaya style, likely 1750 or so. Crowned Buddha with an exceptionally rich decoration in silver and bronze beads and thick thread of Jewellery and floral design on the entire figure. Many of the leafs looks like solid silver and much of the decor too...

A pair of Milchglas / milk glass cups and saucers with flower decoration in gaudy enamels, made around 1760. Relief moulded wth ribbed and diamond-patterned sides and applied foot rims. The model is to be found in the Corning glass museum collections and elsewhere as originating from the glassworks of Flühli in Swiss Luzern. Diameter of saucers "5 ¼ / 13 cm, of cups "3 ¼/ 8 cm. Condition: one cup with old and yellowed glue repair (cf. pics).

A fine example of a four knopped double series opaque twist (DSOT) antique wine glass. The bell bowl is over a stem with a pair of spiral threads outside of a central gauze, and with an annular knop and three ball knops. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

The vast majority of opaque twist glasses have straight stems, and the addition of even one knop adds substantially to the difficulty of making them, and to the value. Each additional knop increases these factors...

Netsuke - A finely carved ivory netsuke of a cluster of various shells, some of them with an inner life reminiscent of the famous clam’s dream story. A bulbous little pitcher or jug and a small mug, both north Bohemian c 1800 or somewhat earlier. The white Milchglas or Milk glass enameled in the style of Meissen or Sèvres porcelain - often in the “Famille rose” colors seen on this pitcher - was an appreciated export from Bohemia (present Czech Republic). Netsuke - Nice model of the Shichifukujin Takarabune (The famous boat loaded with treasures of the 7 gods of happiness) in carved boxwood. Nice carving details of the whole composition. The 7 deities are all identifiable, the boat itself is ornate, the waves and a small Minogame turtle sculpted on the base. The cartridge signature has disappeared over time. Very nice natural patina. Height: 3.5cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 19th century.

A nicely made English wine glass featuring a conical bowl with "hammering" on the lower two thirds of the bowl. The stem is a double series opaque twist with a central lace twist and an outer pair of 6-ply spiral bands. Conical foot with rough snapped pontil. Good color, tooling marks, and striations.

The condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, restoration or other problems. Height is 7", with a bowl diameter of 2 3/8" and a foot diameter of 2 7/8".

A beautiful example of an English drinking glass of the double series opaque twist (DSOT) type. The round funnel bowl sits atop a stem with a 14-ply spiral band around a central pair of heavy spiral threads. Conical foot with rough, snapped pontil.

By far, most opaque twists are straight stems. In contrast, this one has a medial knop. However, what makes this glass highly unusual is that the knop, which is quite large, is a bladed knop...

Exceedingly rare hard porcelain dish from arita. Painted in yellow, green, blue and red enamels. The decor represents many children, seated in a building in front of a covered vase, perhaps a funerary urn. Dominating the assembly, the central character of a trio is the only one wearing a hat. Above the trio three Chinese characters are drawn in red on a panel. It seems to be a religious ceremony but the youth of the assembly is perplexing. Understanding the 3 characters should solve the enigma...

18th century netsuke of a standing Mongolian archer, a bow in his hands and a quiver with arrows behind his back. Very strong early sculpture, boldly carved, wonderful smiling face, excellent depiction of his military coat. Perfectly balanced - stands on its own on flat surface, netsuke of typical 18th century triangular section. Extraordinary rich patina, deep differently sized himotoshi. Superb netsuke. Height 3 3/4 inches (95 mm).

Milchglas or lattimo snuff box, late 18th century. The sides and base with enameled decoration of flowers while on the lid an elegantly dressed little gentleman is seen taking a walk in the park, behind him a pink phantasy rock, a rocaille - all in typically Rococo style. The mounting made of bronze or brass, the upper part with engraved zigzag lines. Made in Bohemia around 1780. Width "2 ¾ / 7.3 cm, height "1 1/8 / 2.7 cm. Condition: fine.
