An antique set of four Indonesian betel nut cutters. Three of the smaller cutters are made with mixed metals and iron; One with the head of a goose, one with the head of a serpent, and one shaped as a peacock. The largest of the set is hand-carved into a playful dog.
The practice of betel nut chewing is common in many parts of South Asia. Slices of the areca nut would be wrapped in betel leaves and chewed, giving a mild stimulant effect...
This is a late Qing period crystal snuff bottle. On the shoulder of the snuff bottle it is curved with the design of Ruyi and the body that of the petals of the lotus and at the base it is surrounded all round with the lappets of the lotus. A very nice and elegant as well as well curved crystal snuff bottle. Cir. late Qing 19th/20th century.

Lovely ivory netsuke depicting the sparrow Fukura Suzume, a small symbolic bird associated with various legends and stories of Japanese folklore.
The netsuke is associated with various legends and stories, including that of “The sparrow with the tongue cut out” (舌切り雀, “Shitakiri Suzume”).
The netsuke is signed Masanao 正直 within an oval reserve under the base.

Two pieces set of massive but small roof tiles actually used for a private house in Gangwon-do in northeastern Korea, early 20th century, 19.5 x 13 x 0.8 cm (7.67 x 5.11 x 0.31in), 18.5 x 9.2 x 0.6 cm (7.28 x 3.62 x 0.23in)...
Two pairs of nephrite /spinach jade footed cups or goblets, one pair smaller than the other. Chinese, early 20th century. The cups of bell-shape, the stems conical, the only decoration being a line between stem and cup, creating the impression of a seam or joint. Height: "3 ¼ and “4 / 8 and 10 cm respectively. Condition: fine, with the exception of a minimal nick to the foot rim of one of the smaller goblets that can be felt but not seen, could be polished away.
Antique Chinese 5-color peking glass snuff bottle with a carved glass overlay design of deep green stems, leaves, and blades of grass with blue, red, yellow, and pink flowers. Antique Chinese porcelain cricket cage of a gourd form. Its lid has reticulated air vents, enamel peonies and Chinese characters and gilt edge details.
