Large Japanese 18th/19th Century Blue & White Porcelain Dish / Platter

This large porcelain dish is attractively decorated in underglaze blue, the design featuring pagodas and a blossoming tree in a rocky landscape. The flat surround of the dish is decorated with a moulded cross-hatch pattern and it has a foliate rim edged in iron-brown. To the base are the typical firing spur marks.

A green glazed "celadon" stoneware vase with flattened pear-shaped body,ring handles and moulded decoration made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province in the 14th Century, during the Yuan dynasty (1279-1368). On each side of the vase are six-lobed cartouches containing the Chinese characters "shou" (longevity) and "fu" (prosperity). This set of 6 plates was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. They have a diameter of 8 1/2 inches. The plates have rococo style reticulated borders. Elegant shaped with slight fairly thickly potted, covered overall with rare bluish green glazed to whole body, the base is glazed and have a short hairline crack, the handle is out then re-glued. Koryo 12th/13th century. High: 18.5cm and Wide: 15cm.
