Maginficent, antique basket from the Naxi/Nakhi ethnic group in Yunnan province. I purchased this in 2001 at local market in Lijiang (now a UNESCO heritage site). Constructed of bamboo with much of lacquer intact, this piece is circa 50 to 80 years old, most interesting is an auspicious coin symbol woven into the top. This kind of thing always reminds of the labor intensiveness that is put in to decorating such a humble object...

Large brilliant-cut jar with sterling silver cover. Made by Watson Co. in Attleboro, Mass., ca 1900. Round and curved with stars, ferns, and diaper. Cover gently raised; on top repousse shell, scroll, and flower wreath (vacant center). Cover interior gilt washed. Marked "Sterling" and maker’s stamp. Very good condition.

This very well carved and designed carved bamboo root brush washer is an early-20th century product. It is 1 7/8” high and 5 7/8” wide (measured from the widest part). It depicts old pine trees with a crane resting on one of the limbs. According to Chinese tradition, pine trees and cranes represent longevity. It is in great condition.

Rare Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider

This very rare and unusual pottery model of a horse & rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The body of the horse, complete with the rider, has been made in a two-piece mould. the join running along the horse's neck and back and the sides of the rider.
