Offered are two, very nice, circa 1910, Seymour Dunn, DEEP DOT Face, hickory shaft golf clubs.

These scarce clubs are stamped on the back "MAKER - SEYMOUR DUNN - LAKE PLACID NEW YORK U.S.A. - a CROWN (VIET ARTE)..". The leather grips are in good condition, and the shafts sport a nice aged patina.

The PITCHER measures 35.5 inches from heel to top of shaft. The MIDIRON measures 37.5 inches from the heel to top of club, and there is a slight bend in the shaft...

This very well carved late Meiji Period (1868~1911) ivory tusk is 14” high (with wood base is 15” high), 4 ½” wide and 4” thick. The carving on one side depicts a castle located in front of a snowy mountain surrounded by rockery and trees. A water fall serves as an entry into a quite village. This is a rare hand-spun natural Shina-fu ( linden)boro bag from the Meiji period (1868-1911). It was originally a stiff material, but it softened after being used many times. The repair marks are cotton fabric and hemp thread. linden cloth naturally turn dark brown over time due to the tannins in the fibers of these trees. There are stains and repair marks. Size: Length: 51cm (20") / Width: 33cm (12.9").

Interesting stone stamp seal of pyramidal shape, Western Mesopotamia, probably Late Halaf or early Ubaid period, c. 6th.- 5th. mill. BC.

The shape of the seal has been recorded many times in buriel finds of the 6th. mill. in Western Mesopotamia and the base is carved with a typical halaf grit-pattern. So we will date it a bit earlier than than the collector, Mr. Oberlánder did. Interesting seal.

Antique Japanese full size two section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing), made of kiri (paulownia) wood with original deep reddish brown translucent lacquer finish with wonderful patina especially around the iron work. This chest has four large drawers and a small safe box in the lower right hand corner with two interior drawers finished to match the front of the chest. Iron work includes warabite shaped drawer pulls and large lock plates...
