Provenance: This superb condition massive celadon charger / dish was recovered from the Royal Nanhai (AD. c.1460) shipwreck. The dating was based on carbon 14 analysis of the ships timber and by cross-referring the ceramic cargo to other datable shipwreck sites...

This Miao woman's jacket has hand embroiled detail collar, front lapel, and sleeve bands...background fabric of the body of the jacket feels like rayon but maybe silk...sleeves are heavy cotton... there is small hole 1/2 inch (looks like cigarette) on the back left side roughly 2-3 inches from hem... this jacket will fit a small woman... this style of woman's jacket is from the shidong area of Tia jiang...

This is an antique Japanese 3 section Isho Kimono Tansu made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Each section interlocks by way of a dual carrying handle/locking bar connection. Constructed using Japanese straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails. The top section features a shelf for additional storage while the center section has three Kimono trays behind the front doors with two large drawers for additional storage in the bottom section...

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1550-1300 BC?, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 3/8” long (10 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Antique Japanese bush holder made of ceramic with highly raised scenes of fu-dogs, one glazed a buff color, the other blue. They stand with characteristic whimsical expressions on mossy rocks out of which bloom large peony flowers in white and pale pink. There are 5 holes in the top for brushes.

A rare and fine condition for type cylinder seal made in a piece of bone utilicing the original shape, carved with dynastic triangular patterns, Mesopotamian, c. 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

Size: 21 mm. tall and 15 mm. wide.

Condition: Nice Very fine, smaller chipping too the ends, fine patina.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory, or KPM, in 1919. The date ciphers indicate this year. The plate is 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The porcelain is delicate and translucent with a reticulated border. The decoration is beautifully hand painted with the “soft paste paint” style. There is a fragile dragonfly hovering near the realistically painted flowers...

Rare Japanese gyosho kannon bako. Constructed of Kiri wood with original red lacquer finish. The piece is fitted with hand-forged iron plates and mounts. The front of the chest holds 3 small drawers in its lower section, with a pair of large doors above. The interior of the chest has a large open compartment with a long drawer long the top. The sides are fitted with iron rings and handles with a long cord so the piece may be carried on a merchant's back.
