A rare carved ivory Netsuke in the form of a Lion or Karashishi, made in Japan in the Edo / Tokugawa period (1600-1868), probably during the 18th Century. Condition: Excellent - age yellowing and cracks - no damages or losses and no restoration. 4cm (1.6inches)long; 3.6cm (1.3inches) high; 2.4cm (0.9inches) deep. A rare Ming dynasty 17th century bronze figure of immortal Ang Hai Jie riding a qilin, good condition no damage, large size in 33 cm height weight about 4 kg.

This 18th century Japanese unsigned hardwood netsuke of a boy is 1 ½ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 inch in depth. It depicts a boy trying to climb on a huge sack. It is in excellent condition.

A fine Chinese bronze Gu, beaker, form flower vase of elegant elongated form cast with geometric, principally leiwen patterns, with zoomorpihic elements based on a Shang precedent. The design here largely adapted from examples to be found in the famous Song catalogue “Xuanhe Bogu Tu”, notably one example with two opposing worm like creatures incorporated in the central band of decoration. This early 19th century lacquered wood depicts a boy performing a Shi Shi dance. It is 2 inches tall. It is signed ¡°Nisai.¡± Some color is worn off; but it is in good condition.

This very well carved late 19th century ivory netsuke is 1 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 2“ thick. It depicts an old samurai’s metal helmet decorated with shi-shi (lion) head on top. The helmet is situated on an opened paper fan. There are a dozen mice with inlaid eyes on the helmet playing and chasing each other. It seems that symbols of war and peace, the helmet and the fan, are brought together and put in their place by nibbling mice. The workmanship is just superb...

Antique Japanese hardwood cabinet with beautiful inlaid decoration of birds and nature scenes. Flying birds, birds in branches and at rest are depicted with great naturalism: morning doves with peonies, cranes flying through golden clouds, and egrets walking through water lilies. Antique fish sculpture, made from silver, with a fully articulated body, allowing wonderful lifelike movement. The forehead bears a symbol of two fish swimming closely in a yin yang formation. Its mouth is slightly open, almost smiling. Each of its scales has been embossed with intricate designs. A four character Chinese manufacturer's mark can be seen underneath the chin.
