This porcelain platter was produced in Germany at the Franziska Hirsch Dresden studio in the late 19th century. It has a diameter of 13 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The rim of the platter is done in a rococo style and has reticulated decoration. The platter is hand painted with elaborate floral decorations. It has a large central bouquet, floral swags and garlands done with vibrant colors. There are many gilded accents within the decoration. The rim is trimmed with gold...

A porcelain dish from the Imari Kilns of Japan, that was made during the 19th Century. The dish is six sided with scalloped edges, has a center bouquet of vined flowers, and has border scenes of a flying dragon and temples. The plate measures about 13 1/2" in diameter x 2" high. The condition is very good with some wear to the design and on the gold covered rim. There are three very small edge frets that you can feel, but are too small to show in a picture...

A large, beautiful, 1884 Rookwood art pottery covered ginger jar, decorated with a bird in flight. The jar is in excellent condition (there is a small scratch on the jar's body - see picture). The jar has the size-code, 'A', the code for the largest-sized Rookwood articles: the ginger jar is 8 1/4 inches tall and 7 inches wide at the shoulders. Since the jar is not artist-signed, it was most probably a display piece at Rookwood's showroom in Cincinnati...

Silver and brass very large Catholic votive item with decorative silver heart, three cherubs, and a flame. And, in applied brass(or other gold metal) there is a cross atop a crown with the initials "RCR". Quite large, it measures 7 1/2" long by 5 1/4" wide. This was placed in Catholic churches when asking for assistance......$12 for insured USA shipping plus applicable NY tax.

This pair of bronze candlesticks was produced in France in the late 19th century. They measure 6 3/4 inches high and the base has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. There are 3 areas on the candlesticks that have the champlevé enamel decorations, the cup that holds the candle, the bobeche and the base. The enamel decoration is elaborate and very colorful. There are girl and boy cherub figures creating the shaft of both pieces. They are in excellent, antique condition.

Sterling Enamel Box with gold wreath on a guilloche cobalt blue enamel ground with gilt interior. Marked .925 on cover and on base. Circa 1890.

A Continental Cabinet Plate by Oscar Schlegelmilch factory in Langewiesen, Thuringia, Germany, circa 1890 (marked with a Royal Vienna style blue beehive mark) The plate decorated with a central image depicting Odysseus and Telemachos surrounded by gilt and additional color and gilt banding. Signed "R Starml"? Dimension; 10.5in diameter. Excellent condition. See also 1306B(1049934).

19th century wooden netsuke of a theatrical mask, traces of painted mustache identifies the character as Chujo. Made in saishiki technique - the wood is covered with gesso, which in turn is painted in bright colors. A lot of wear to the surface, but still has good presence. Height 1 9/16 inches.

It was carved by a late Meiji period (1868~1911) artist Tozan (東山). It depicts a smiling wood cutter taking a break and tying his straw sandal lace. A sparrow is resting on his straw hat. It is 6 1/5" high, 3 7/16" wide (from the bottom) and 3" thick (from the bottom). Aside from two hair line cracks; one on his back head and one on the bottom, it is in great condition.

Elegant Victorian sterling silver serving dish with intricate repousse and pierced sides. The sides are finished off with a cyma-curve border punctuated at compass points with baroque shell motifs. The bottom is fully hallmarked for London, 1891-92, and has the maker’s mark “WC”. The piece is quite heavy and is of the very good quality.

Origin: England, 1891-92. Condition: excellent, no dings, no monogram. Size: 9” x 6-1/2” x 1-3/8” high. Weight: 177.5 grams.

Monumental antique, Chinese, Qing Dynasty 1644 to 1912.A.D green glazed 'Shiwan' ceramic vessel (wine ewer, water jug).

The body of the baluster forms with a flared neck and an averted rim. A short spout shaped like a horned dragon's head, adorned on the front with a large unglazed rectangular panel carved with four Chinese calligraphy characters, and on the back with a short vent tube. The shoulders are decorated with two molded beast masks with loop handles...

Most likely French, 19th century. The image of an Englishman hunting with a hound was a common image on enamel boxes, especially snuff boxes in the eighteenth century. However, it clearly dates to the late nineteenth century. The lug and ribbed banding on the metal hinge, as well as the completely hand painted nature of the lid identify this box as a nineteenth-century creation.

Damage to hinge. Lid does not close entirely. Loss to underside enamel.

Antique Japanese hirado ware white vase with base. The vase is a beautiful white color. The simple shape is accented with dragon shaped handles on either side. The work is done by the kiln of Kanzan Denshichi (1821-1890). Kanzan was trained in Koto ware in Shiga by the order of Ii Naosuke. Later in 1871 Kanzan establishes an imperial kiln producing table ware for the Imperial Household. Signatures on the bottom reads: Dai Nippon Kanzan Sei, (trans: Produced by Kanzan of Dai Nipppon)...

Antique Chinese carved wooden figure of the God of War, Guandi. Seated with one leg bent and hands on knees. His armor is decorated with feathers and his crown is carved with dragons. Carved details and traces of colorful lacquer and pigment.
