This is tsutsugaki textile from the Edo period.
A design of lions and peonies in the midst of silent falling snow.
It's not flashy, but it looks like a fusuma painting from the Edo period. Both the indigo dye and the cotton are from the Edo period, and they have a very nice texture.

Republic or a little later, black and red lacquered “Dou” offering stem bowl (usually fruit) for an ancestral altar table, with gilt garden and scholar’s theme. This from Guangdong and made for a Chaozhou family, aka Teo Chew, aka Chiu Chow. W: 21cm/8.2in and H: 13cm/5.1 in. There is some warpage, noted in enlargements but if just turn it the right way you won’t notice.

An antique Japanese Yonezawa Isho Tansu made of Kuri (Chestnut) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware. Lock plates feature the family crest of the original owner with bronze outer circular frames. The handles are of the Warabite style. Five drawers with a security hinged door that hides 2 additional drawers.
