A rare and magnificent locket and chain from the Chicago Arts & Crafts Workshop KALO. The oval locket has an engraved pattern of lowers surrounded by a beaded trim. The back is completely plain. It opens and closes with a side hinge. The double paper clip chain with alternating flower shape links appears to be original to the locket and is spectacular in every way. A beautifully and finely enamelled turquoise ground "famillie-rose" bowl. It has an alternate motive of a bat flying on top of a iron red Shou character followed by a lotus flower surrounded by meandering foliate and branching leaf. The base has four iron red Chien Lung (1736-1796) period character mark. This bowl is an early 20th century export piece for the South-East Asian market.

Minor firing faults and pinholes. No sign of cracks or chips...
