This is a palatial oil on canvas, Madonna and Child with Angels, 19th Century, no signature, Child holding rosary beads in hands, larger angel playing lute, smaller angel playing violin, canvas mounted on stretcher frame in palladian style, reinforced on back by sections of masonite board. Good condition, varnish heavy in spots and dripped, signs of overpainting in one spot, scratch upper left, may need cleaning and some restoration.

WEARABLE ART: When this coat was tailored out of an old Japanese kimono, it was made to stress the lightness of the coat without the lining. Light coconut shell buttons were chosen for the same reason. Freshly made using the fabric from early 1900 to 1940. Black color with a slight green tint and silver thread stripes, medium size.
Rope-like metal circles compose this lovely necklace. The fringe pieces forming a pendant give it a graceful look when worn.
This is a stylized ivory "donkey" handle corkscrew, having a finely carved donkey head with ears, mane and one glass eye, underside of handle has a carved arrow, marked STERLING silver repousse banding attached to brass corkscrew, very good condition with one eye missing and wear to silver banding. May need cleaning. Total measurement is 6 in approx, Ivory head is 4 1/2 in handle length x1 1/4 in H, ivory width is 3/4 in approx.
This is a finely carved ivory horse head, one side having three heads with glass eyes, mane and teeth, the other side, a single horse head on a wood base, excellent condition with age appropriate wear, some surface cracks. Ivory measurements 4 1/2 in. L x 1 3/4 in H x 1 3/8 in W. Including base 5 1/4 in L x 2 3/4 in H x 2 in W approximately.
This is a very fine Art Nouveau clear crystal vase with silver overlay and slver base.The overlay is crafted in a floral and vine design with etching, monogrammed "FKC", in good condition. This type of tissue holder is called "Hakoseko". This is to be placed between Obi and Kimono with the chains dangling in the chest area. Hakoseko is still being used today for very special ceremonial occasions, but it is very difficult to find an old quality piece like this. Obviously, this has been stored for years without being used. The condition is new with some faint storage stains. It came with a paper bag filled with straws instead of tissue papers...
Tiny glass beads cover most of this curled Haskell gilt feather. Delicate. Miriam Haskell oval plaque on the back. 2 1/8" long, 1 1/2" wide.
Trifari design patent number on the back of the brooch--#129320--reveals that the design was created in 1940, probably by Philippe for Trifari. It is a treasure, and oh so graceful in line. 4" long, 1 3/4" wide. Slightly convex, rhodium plated.
