Fine Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider (206 BC - AD 8)

This fine and attractive pottery horse and rider was made over 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a dark grey pottery, quite "heavily-potted", that has been "cold painted" in a base coat of creamy-white pigment with the details mostly picked out in red and black pigments although there are also traces of pink and green pigments in places...

This showpiece from Margot de Taxco is supremely rare. I've not seen another. It's a necklace which instantly commands attention.

The huge centerpiece can be used as a pendant necklace, or detached from the chain to serve as a pin.

An image of the sleeping Shojo (sake Sprite) by the 12th generation Sakaida Kakiemon enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Taihaku Shojo Bori Okimono. The ordinarily playful figure is performed in pure white, a serene look upon his sleeping face creating an almost holy feeling, the ladle fallen at his knee, leaning against a barrel of sake, the empty jar the only color. The image is 31 x 21 x 16 cm (12 x 8 x 6 inches) and is in excellent condition...

Hand-wrought in 940 sterling silver, this mid 20th century necklace is in beautiful condition with a tight and secure clasp. Hallmarked on the clasp HA 940 TAXCO with eagle #9. English partial tea service adorned in Imari decoration, unmarked but probably Coalport, with some pieces bearing the pattern number 653 painted in red. Circa 1810-1825. A beautiful and well made scholar's screen made of blackwood and having the original marble insert. Most of the marble in early pieces have been replaced. The frame for the marble has a key fret design. The base has carvings of two peaches, representing longevity, and the peony for prosperity. Age: Early 19th century. Size: H. 64cm. W. 43.5cm. Condition: No repairs, all original, age crack on the marble, common for it's age.

This 14Kt white gold estate ring is centered by 2.09Ct (7.5 X 6.5 millimeter) cushion cut tanzanite. The center stone is encircled by six brilliant cut diamonds, and eight tapered diamond banquettes. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 0.75Ct. The ring is a size 5 ¼ and can easily be sized.

This very rare and unusual (possibly unique?) ewer was made during the Liao Dynasty (AD 907 - 1125). The body is decorated with moulded leaf and floral designs, and coated in an attractive amber glaze.
