Signed with an old hallmark of Matilde Poulat's Matl the repousse is in full regalia. Very well done with fine carving leaving a true feeling of the feathered bird. This is the larger sized version being 4 1/8thin. tall and 2.25in. wide. The weight is 36.5 grams heavy. This is a must have for the Matl collector and this one is an excellent example with the larger, full tail of 3 rings. No damage or flaws, just superb.

A 14k diamond engagement or wedding ring from the 1930s. This size 6 ring is typical for the the late 1930s with a small 2 point diamond in an enhanced setting (used to give the impression of a larger stone). The shoulders on the 3/4 x 3/16" white gold setting are tooled with flower heads and this ring weighs 2.3 grams. It is unmarked and it tests as 14k (the white gold setting is probably 18k white gold) and the shank tests as 14k gold...

A romantic ring from the 1920’s is this platinum filigree solitaire diamond ring. The very attractive design captures some early Art Deco elements. The 0.21Ct brilliant cut diamond is held by six beads in the hexagonal top.

Wonderful Chanel brooch from the 1930's. It is in excellent condition. There are five enamel flowers with leaves (the white one faces sideways), and the center and the perimeter of the bow are studded with clear, sparkling, tiny rhinestones. A large Chinese "Peach" bowl vibrantly decorated with "famille rose" enamels in 18th Century Imperial style. On the base is the mark 'Qianlong yu zhi'('Made by Imperial order of Qianlong') written in blue enamel enclosed by a double square. However this item was made later - probably during the 1920s or 1930s in the Republic period. Provenance - from the collection of the late Reverend Victor Farmer. Delicate basket of pave rhinestones filled with colorful crystal flowers, all in the Deco style. 2 1/8" by 1 1/4".

Chinese plaque done in Qianjiang style with a crane flying over with a tree in the scene. There is a poem written in black ink in the upper left corner with a seal in iron red below it. The plaque has an overall orange-peel effect on the surface.

Condition is very good, no breaks or cracks. Some minor wear to the enamels

This toddler's pants were used by successive siblings and probably several generations of Chinese Miao ethnic minority children. The pants are of handwoven indigo dyed fabric and the legs are decorated with handwoven tape which is sewn into place by hand. The pants are crotchless, which was typical attire for very young children throughout old China.
